Dual boot and SD card

Two question about SD card with dual boot:
1. at the moment in Android I'm using 256 GB SD as extension of the operative system; if I set dual boot, will linux and Android see the SD as well and their partition in it reciprocally?
2. hoping that a next FOTA update could permit to update FOTA automatically also for dual boot, they said that at the moment the OTA update file must run in a SD; if I leave the SD as above (operating system extension) shall I run update from that card or could I run it from an external SD via USB?

if you've "adopted" the card as an extension for android internal space, it will be encrypted and invisible.
you can partially adopt the card and leave legacy space free for fat32 which can be shared with other OSs.

thank you, I just read the thread.
I would avoid open Gemini and de-instert the card to carry the files, better for me to use another card via usb, if possible and to leave the internal card adopted.

with my home Linux PC I made a fat32 partition on my sd card for music 23gb. Then 100gb ext4 for possibly /home for Linux (if i can work it out) when i finally flash.

The music app (i installed vlc) found it, scanned the directory and albums np.

I would have preferred to image a partition on the sd card than flashing the phone (just to try OS out, bit like using a liveCD). But this really is new territory, it'll probably be an option in a years time .
