Update trouble. Am I doing something wrong ?
« on: February 13, 2019, 07:00:56 am »
Hello.

After update to 2.2.0.29 I'm always stuck on a screen with language selection after boot.

I can not pass it. Neither by touch or keyboard input.
Is there someone who knows what i do wrong ?

Thanks.

I never had this problem, however I might be able to help you fix it. Do you have a debian install as well? If you do, then you can boot into debian, and look at the sailfish files. They are in /.stowaways. You can look at/mount the sailfish firmware image you used to flash the device and compare to what is in stowaways. You may find a corrupted file. Other than that, use the stowaways trick to back up your data and then reflash and restore......

Thx for your answer.

Yes. I have debian.
I will try to compare the files.

I am using this guide to update.  https://together.jolla.com/question/186471/...anet-computers/

Already tried of a few times on a fresh install and I have the same problem over and over.

Is there another wat to try to update ?

Thx.

PC has now released the sailfish 3 version for gemini (beta) on their support page. It will probably require a complete flash, so back up first. Alternatively, you could boot debian and copy the contents of the new sailfish image over the top of what you have. I dont know if there is a kernel change, so things might not work. If the copy fails, then you havent lost anything more if you need to reflash.

Even though I am on the  EA version of 3.0.1.11, I will probably update to the PC beta this weekend. That gives me time to work out how to backup my email/sms/contaces etc

Thx for the info.

I took the easiest way by updating the firmware.
It is working now.

Thx.
