What can we do with a Zaurus running voidz?
« on: July 08, 2021, 07:31:45 am »
Hi all,
As voidz provides a rather up to date way to run linux on our lovely Zaurii, the next question becomes: what to do with it?

Personally, I miss a windowed environment, but running a taste of X might be too far out. What would be another way to make use of the Z?

Any ideas, and/or ways you use the Z?

If I remember well the current Void Linux port does not have support for X sessions. For that, AlarmZ has to be used, although X is said to be running slow.

A list of possible ideas on what to use a Z for:
- games under emulation, especially those requiring a keyboard
- typing notes on the go
- IRC chatting, emails, RSS feeds reading
- remote ssh sessions
- bitcoin wallets cold storage
- IPTV .ts streams recording (those that require just a simple wget, no re-encoding involved)

I'd like to hear of any other usage too!
