Help with irk-zaurus
« on: June 01, 2004, 03:40:06 pm »
Greetings,

I am new to X11 Rom. I installed irk-zaurus and now I cant see how to use it.  I rebooted as one of the threads here indicated, but I still don\'t see any configuration utility. (I looked in the QT one as well.)

Any help is appreciated.

Actually, you can get it working using the python driver under the X11 ROM, but it doesn\'t work as well as the qtopia IRK driver.  Its usable for typing email, but some characters like \'|\' do not work so you will have problems typing programs or shell scripts with it.

Interestingly enough....

I googled targus and pdaxrom and got this

http://www.cs.umb.edu/~woodbj/zaurus/xirkd/

Which has a ipk that does the trick very well.

Is this related to irk?

The biggest problem with hardware support is that we usually don't have any of the hardware and the donations are running thin - so we can't afford to buy and test all the hardware.
C760 running pdaXrom lastest ;-)
