How to restore \'network.opt\'?
« on: June 03, 2004, 01:27:58 pm »
In trying to set up Kismet in my Z5600 I messed up my network.opts file. I found that I could add wireless LAN/TCP/IP only when the Network setting was accessed without root privileges (I\'m not sure if this should be the case). Anyway, now I get the error \"Cannot correct system setting file /etc/pcmcia/network.opts.
Is there any way to restore this? Or do I have to format & reflash?
I am running the latest Sharp ROM.

Thanks
SL 5600 PXA250 with Watapon 1.6
Kingston 256MB SD/ Canon 32MB CF/ Pretec WiFi 802.11b

(Still) Looking for a suitable case

If you ever find yourself in a position where you need the original copy of a file, on the Sharp ROM there are 3 hidden tar files in /root that are normally used to restore everything after a full reset: .dev_default.tar, .home_default.tar, and .var_default.tar

network.opts is in .home_default.tar -- you can untar a fresh copy from there.
