Hi,

Since 2 weeks I am a proud owner of a Zaurus SL-C860. I didn\'t have much time to play around (last Sunday was my Japanese Test) but now I will get some time to look into the details of these thing.

Up to now I am very happy. Great display, quite good software, but I will see.

Next thing I hae to get a WLAN card to get online with my Zaurus and then I will see. There is a lot of Software, but most (or almost all) is for the US 5xxx series. The Software for the 860/7x0 is most in japanese, hidden in japanese pages.

so things I need to find out are: libSDL & scummvm so it works on the SL series, getting the qtopia SDK working and perhaps playing around a bit with it. and if I am brave enough (I already have a 16MB CF card) I need to try OpenZaurus.

greetings from Japan.

fine !

download
http://www.cacko.biz/~sash/slc860/snap-upd...ater/updater.sh
and put on  SD 256MB,
than run flash update from SD.
this script will build tar file from your system on SD.
it will take time.
than after rebooting, copy and compress tar file with ZIP(, GZIP, BZIP2 etc) archiver and put plz download

okay, I will do it at home. but I need some days until I get internet back at home. I am right now in the middle of provider change [in japan almost every month the providers double or tripple their speed and cut the prices ...]

gullevek,

Can you confirm if the C860 can still do TCP/IP over USB even in the presence of the Zaurus Drive (USB Mass Storage Device) feature?  (i.e. can you establish a TCP/IP connection between your Z and your PC; e.g. telnet; ftp; ssh; etc.?)

Thanks!

I put the 860 rom on to my 760 and the USB connection will work as either TCP/IP, USB I/O or USB Mass Storage. You can only select one of the modes at any time.

]I put the 860 rom on my 760

how did you do that???  Does everything else work?  I imagine it\'s the Japanese Rom which you reworked???

I renamed the 860\'s NAND backup to SYSTC760.DBK and it flashed just fine!

As far as my Zaurus is concerned, it\'s an 860 now! Everything works just fine
