Dual boot?
« on: July 27, 2004, 05:12:45 am »
Hi there!

I found one post by derekp about dual booting the Z, and I', eager tp try it. A howto was mentioned, but I cant find it, anybody knows about that? And the script mentioned there? Are there any other documents other than that post I should read for that? Thanks for any pointers, I'd really prefer to know stuff in advance *G*

Cheers
Philipp

Here is a link to the thread which is a little difficult to find (is there a bug in the forum Search??? When I type 'dual boot' and search I get tons of different documents):

https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...indpost&p=16273

I think it never ended in a real HowTo document.

Thanks

That's the one I meant. But there was something else, I remember somebody (josh or so?) having a setupt of 4 different boot images, there was a thread where he would describe his actions (or not? not sure...), can anybody remember?

Thanks, cheers

derekp wrote scripts that worked for 5600 that put OZ on SD and allowed booting into the Sharp or OZ ROMs. Stubear tweaked derek's method to allow dual booting into either Sharp based ROMs or pdaXrom on SD. I'm not sure if this worked on 5X00, but it sure worked on 7X0/860. see link
You see a brief how-to stubear wrote.

Joshp took derek's work several steps further and was multi-booting into 4 different ROMs on his 5X00. (unfortunately, he dropped his Z and haven't seen him posting recently. Try emailing him to get details of how he did it.

It's not as hard as it sounds.

Have fun and happy hacking  but don't drop your Z!

I guess I must be blind but I still cannot see where to download the script or the ipkg.  Would anyone care to post or PM a direct link?  Thanks.
