It would break. Remember the kernels are different as are the kernel modules.

What you might be able to do (using something like OZ with a writable ROM - I realise OZ doesn't exist for the 6000 either yet) is to copy across the rest of the files in the ROM. However in this case you'd be better off helping with OZ development and then using GPE (which I have running on my 5500) which is pretty much the same afaik (X11 with matchbox frontend).

Do you have a pointer to the gpe image you're using?  Or did you build it with OE?  I'd like to give gpe a try sometime...

Is the thread. It was built with OE but not by me (I'm still having issues getting it to work second time round and have little time to spend on it).

There are images for the 5500 (and the kernel to use it linked in the thread) and the C750 (again you need the standard 3.3.6pre1 kernel to add to the initrd.bin).

The 5500 image works well if you use the snooze binary to suspend, I couldn't work out how to get the 750 to suspend, even using snooze.

jh, I don't know what machine you have, but if it's not one of these two (except perhaps that a 5000D and a 760/860 might also work, I don't know) then don't try flashing them.

Cool, thanks lardman...  yeah, my device is a 5500.  I'm looking to get a C860 soon, so I thought I'd use the 5500 as my "play around" unit.  GPE looked interesting.
