« on: September 17, 2004, 04:18:16 am »
I have uploaded vnc viewer for pdaxrom fo zug but it hasnt turned up on downloads page yet.

I also have a version of fuse (specutrum emulator) ready to go. How long do downloads normally take to show?

They should show up right away in the unstable feed area.  Do you
see it in your IPK Feed editor?

Also, will this include the vncserver?

I uploaded to the zug applications page.

How do you upload to pdaxrom, I cant find an upload page there.

This is VNC Viewer only, I also have x0vncserver available and I can package it so you can get VNC Server on zaurus. Im not sure on the best way to package Xvnc and as its a Kdrive server vnc.so wont work.

I compiled x11vnc (another VNC server that displays your current X session) but it will crash when you rotate the screen since the resolution changes.  Does x0vncserver suffer from the same problem?

Ok, I have now finished packaging it and it also falls over when you rotate the screen.

Oh well, time to look for answers :-)

Request an account from Laze. Laze <laze@pdaxrom.org>.  Once you
have an account, you can upload and maintain packages on pdaxrom.

I had been using VNC to and from my Z to Windows and Linux boxes, but it seems too slow and buggy.  The best viewer / technology I've used is NX.  It works very well even on slow connections.  Just thought you might be interested in an improvement over VNC.  To add NX can improve VNC and RDP connections too.  Sorry if this was too OT.

Well NX doesnt seem to do what I want yet, maybe when the OpenNX stuff is more mature and someone packages it for fedora.

It would also be nice if pdaXrom supported the LBX extension, then you can send single X windows to the local machine on a low bandwidth link.
