Unfortunately, you don't get 7.2 AmpHours with 4 1.8 Amphour batteries in parrallel. You only get 1.8 (but at a higher voltage: 5.34 v 1.2). If you wire them in series you will get 7.2, but at only 1.2 volts.

Anyway, I get about four hours of use with backlight on full and intermittent use of WiFi card. My batteries are not as high capacity as yours and are several years old now, so you should get slightly better use time from yours. I also made two packs with AAA batteries. These are about the same capacity as the Z's internal battery, but are very small and easy to cart around. Did you find the instructions for making the battery packs I made? If not, let me know and I'll email or pm it to you.

Thanks macz for the nice mod.
I've seen PeakCloudy's battery extender on ebay. I just wondering how to connect a LED Power Indicator on that kind of battery pack. Should I put an R between led and battery pack ? If anyone have this battery pack, could you please take a pix inside?

There are some 5 or 6 volt LED's out there. Most are 1.5v (I think) and require a resitor in series with the LED to lower the voltage to what the LED requires. I think the 5, 6, and 12 Volt LED's are just a package assembly with the correct resistor included. You would wire the LED package (LED and resitor in series) parallel with the power output after the power switch. If you wire them in series, you will lower the voltage of power output. Am I confusing you enough yet? I can send you some schematics that may be easier to understand if you want.

This is backwards. Wiring 4 - 1.8ah 1.2v in parallel gives you a single 7.2ah 1.2v power source. wiring the same batteries in series provides a single 1.8ah 4.8v source.
