I've built the latest version of k-phone (4.04) and I have the 760 model.
I'm in Japan, so I'm going to get a Japanese mobile phone hands free headset today.
These are supposed to work. I've already signed up to www.sipphone.com
I am not sure how easy it will be to get working though. I am able to place a call though to my home phone.. I get a "we're placing your call now" audio message from sipphone, then my home phone rings, I answer it and there's silence (i.e. speaking into the real phone doesn't result in that speech coming out of the zaurus) for 30 seconds or so, then the call disconnects on both ends.
I guess the good news it that it's looking like a configuration problem rather than a problem with the kphone app.
I've made an ipk and uploaded it to the RC5 unstable feed.
I'd be grateful for any feedback.
Andy
The 30 seconds pause IS the Kphone app!
But the good news is:
I solveld all the problems running KPhone on the Z!
The result is:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ckage_id=125452KPhone/Pi 0.9.7
It is based on KPhone 4.0.3 and fixed a lot of ugly bugs in KPhone.
I have contacted the KPhone 4.0.3 developers about my changes, but never got a reply.
KPhone/Pi 0.9.7 should be compileable without problems for pdaXrom.
Please download the sources from the above link and use the
kphone_pi.pro
file for creating Makefiles.
The kphone_piE.pro file is for building KPhone for the Zaurus Sharp/OZ Roms and will not work.
It would be great, if KPhone/Pi would eb available for pdaXrom as well, it is a really cool and useful application.
To the others, who are reading this:
If you are running Zaurus with Sharp/OZ Roms, download the ipk from the above link.
It will work on the Z 5500 as well!
If you have OZ 3.5.1 running, please install KPhone/Pi 0.9.7 from the OZ 3.5.1 feed.
There is a version available compiled with GCC 3.xx.
