WANTED: SL-6000W
« on: October 27, 2004, 05:19:25 am »
I know many people don't care about bluetooth, but I need it to connect to my cell phone with my PDA.

If you have a Zaurus SL-6000W and would be willing to trade me for my (mint condition) SL-6000L, I will make it worth your while. I am also willing to buy one outright (and sell mine on eBay) if I have to, but I don't have a lot of capital to be doing that so a trade is better for me.

Why don't you just buy a bluetooth CF card?

Or an Aircable, (although I hear you cannot open the 6000L with the aircable plugged in, but using the screen keyboard should be easy enough for those instances.

Does 6000L have SDIO port?  If so, then you could also try a Bluetooth SD card.

Seems like you taking a big hit for something easily added...

A Bluetooth SD card will not work. Even if there is a way of making a particular SD card work like one company has done for their WiFi card on a C860, there are currently no drivers for this.

The Bluetooth CF area is becoming more and more muddled. For some reason the manufacturers of CF cards like to keep switching the chipsets and the open source drivers cannot keep up. I don't know why they do this. USB Bluetooth dongles are tiny (i.e. the electronics could easily fit in a Type I CF card) and almost all of them use the same chipset.

I did get a Belkin CF Bluetooth card, but it doesn't work with the bluez drivers. I can get another CF card, but I would like to keep the CF slot free. I've also got a 4GB Microdrive and CF GPS card.
