I didnt know OZ had a GUI frontend for bluetooth. Is it for BlueZ or Affix ?
It definitely works with bluez, not sure whether it works with affix. The relevant packages are opie-bluetoothapplet, opie-bluetoothmanager and opie-bluetooth-manager-help-en (the last one contains just an empty HTML file so I can't really say).
You said your card has to be supported before you can use the GUI. Is there a list somewhere of natively supported cards?
Check the "Other" section of ZUG Howtos for a Bluetooth Howto and a compatibility list. I believe Socket F should work without problems. In any case, there are quite a few threads in the Accessories section of the forums to get you started.
But dont you find it frustrating that some sales-type sitting next to you has a quicker easier time doing basic stuff with a *wince* machine.
It's true that nothing is free in the "free software" community, i.e. all work has to be done by
someone and if there's no-one to do it - tough luck. I can usually stop my frustration by reminding myself that this is a path I chose myself. Another great antidote is the knowledge that a contribution I make can be picked up by anyone who needs it and vice versa.
