Console, Mame And The Sharp Rom
« on: December 04, 2004, 05:54:16 pm »
I am in the process of building a miniature MAME cabinet which is where my Zaurus SL5500 will live some of the time.  I switched to the Sharp ROM as it's quite stable and things just seem to work.  However, I would like to work out how to get MAME running on it.  I'm a little clueless at the moment so please be gentle.  I extracted the ZMAME files from the binary archive at mameworld and I am guessing executing that from the console will work (eg. zmame pacman) but I can't find a console.

Also, can anyone recommend a frontend to ZMAME?

Thanks,
Tony

sounds like a cool project, did you ever finish it? i'd like to have seen pictures of your miniature arcade cabinet.

if i was going to do a similar project i would've opted for one of the cl-xxx zaurus. they have usb host capability, which means you could've plugged in a usb joystick/pad and have that as part of your controller for your cabinet.
