Pda Friendly Web Sites
« on: December 07, 2004, 06:59:08 pm »
I am exploring the possiablities with my SL 6000L and have found a few PDA portals, but not
a lot for small screen devices. So I started my own web site for PDAs. It is just now getting
up and running with a couple of news links. The goal of the site is to have a PDA useable
home page with links and items of interest to PDA web surfers.

The site name is www.mypdasite.com and it has a 'suggestion box' email link so anyone can
offer content suggestions and/or links. Could also make the site an email place if enough
people are interested.

Thanks, Nomeite,  Nome Alaska.

I know amazon.com and slashdot both have text only pages. There are a few others too, but on don't have the links handy. I'll see if I can find them.

Check out PDAPortal, they have a collection of pda friendly sites.  News, weather, technology, reference...  lots of stuff. They work on the smaller 5x00 series screens too.

http://wap.yahoo.com

Many sites work when you replace 'www' with 'wap' for the embedded device version of the site.

Thanks for the replys

I have the www.mypdasite.com up and running with some links and have been searching for
more. Specificly, games,, I used to like the old Scott Adams games ( can anyone say 'VIC20' or 'C64')
and would like to find a text based adventure game that fits on the small screen PDAs.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Scotty,, Nome Alaska.   HAPPY NEW YEAR

If you use Opera, Wap pages (pages for cell phones) will also work. Most major sites will have a WAP page, Most of the time all you have to do is replace the www with wap  .

There are many WAP indexes. A few are

http://tash.gn.apc.org/wap_links.htm
The best    is the one I created http://craigweb.org/wap/index.wml .
