FWIW, Wireguard works well for me.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll have a go at upgrading the VPN server that I have access to. Unfortunately I don't have control over all of them.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / VPN on the Cosmo

After leaving it alone for a few hours it's now working.  I'm not sure why it didn't work this morning. Normally I'd blame the VPN server or a typo during configuration but I was able to connect at will with my laptop and Gemini at the time, and I didn't edit the config in between.
The Cosmo does struggle to maintain its wifi connection more than the Gemini does, and I did reboot the Cosmo at some point. Maybe the flaky connection this morning interfered, or the reboot fixed something. I'll post again if it turns out to be unstable but it's been pretty good since I finally managed to connect.

I connect to several VPNs. Two are L2TP PSK and one is OpenVPN. All 3 work perfectly on my Gemini , laptop and other android devices but the Cosmo will not connect to either of the L2TP ones. OpenVPN works but not L2TP.
Has anyone had success with VPNs other than OpenVPN?

Gemini PDA - Linux / Gemini New Debian Experience

I now have a better solution for displaying CPU usage. This version does not require any alterations to the config to work correctly with the Gemini. It also adds a new keyword to the cpu usage format which prints out the number of activated CPUs (%active). The change to the source code is also more contained so I've added the source code so that you can checkout the current version of i3status, add in my changes, and then re-compile for yourself.

I've attached my i3status which fixes the battery issue and my config. The interesting lines in the config are the path line in the battery section, and the max_cpu line in the cpu_usage section. The max_cpu entry is non-standard and just enables my workaround for the gemini not numbering it's cpus consecutively when they aren't all enabled.
Hopefully someone will find them useful.

Looks like you need a version of i3status which is less than 17 days old! There was a fix checked in then for when POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS=Not charging - which is exactly what my status shows.

Hi,

My problem was the batterie level not working with i3status. No problem with font.
You need to set the path to the uevent file in your i3status config:

battery 0 {
...
  path = "/sys/class/power_supply/battery/uevent"
...
}

I typed the above from memory as I don't have my gemini to hand but if I got it wrong, I'm pretty sure that it should be correct enough for you to find the file from the terminal.

Hi,

Sorry but it does not work. In fact i3status is waiting for a BAT0 type field instead of battery. A field ending with a battery index. If there is no index, it detects nothing.
Hmm. It works for me. BAT0 is the default path and that is why you have to override it in the config. Maybe you need a later version of i3status. I compiled my own from the git repository so I have the most up to date version possible.

I had problems getting CPU usage to work as well and I ended up compiling my own i3status with some fixes for that. The problem is that i3status expects the processors to be list consecutively but the Gemini turns CPUs on and off non-consecutively (e.g. you might only have cpu0 and cpu5 turned on and i3status would look for cpu0 and cpu1).

It is spam. If you click on one of the images you get connected to ads - lots of them! But I like optical illusions so I don't particularly mind. At least I'm getting something out of being advertised to....

Qt/Qtopia / Qtopia 4.3: Install New Applications

I have qtopia 4.3 on the zaurus, and I want to recompile/install and try some applications, but I cannot found how-to install they on the qtopia. The package manager can download packages from internet only.
Is it possible to install the homebrew applications?
I've only played with 4.3 on the Greenphone via the Greenphone SDK (from www.qtopia.net ). The SDK does allow you to install homebrew apps but it does so (if I understand what is going on correctly) by installing it into its own web server built into the SDK.
The SDK comes as a Vmware virtual machine so it may work for you, but it does seem to specifically recognise the greenphone.
Otherwise, it is probably reasonably easy to install your own web-server, depending on your experience. I have done it in the past without too much difficulty but it was in the distant past so the way I did it is way out of date so hopefully someone with some more up to date experience than my own can help.
Should you succeed, I have an Opie-Reader qpk and a VNCViewer qpk which were written for 4.3. They are for the phone edition but I doubt that I've used anything phone specific.

I'm in North West London (but also have two young-ish children). If you end up somewhere in that area I *may* be able to come along. But since it isn't 100% likely, don't choose a venue for my convenience.

Software / Updated Vnc Viewer For Sharp Roms

Teakettle gives out segmentation fault at launch on sl-c3200 with sharp rom, tetsu kernel.
Strange..........

At launch (which I can't do much about) or on connection. I've just discovered a bug where if the VNC server doesn't send a Desktop name (which AFAIK only applies to Apple's current RD server) it can crash teakettle.

I don't have a build environment ATM but if this maybe is your problem, let me know and I'll try and sort it. In the meantime Vine Server is a good VNC server for Macs which does send a desktop name.

If it doesn't fit your problem, then the only thing I can think of is your bookmarks file is corrupt. Try deleting ~/Applications/teakettle/bookmarks (I'm not sure of the capitalisation but you should be able to find it) and then restarting teakettle.

I added some of the higher compression modes to Keypebble and compiled a version for the Sharp ROM. You can get it from [a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18113&st=45]this thread.[/url]

OPIE Reader version 1.0.3 works and can be installed on the SD card.

I still have the necessary build files to make Opie-reader for Qtopia > 1.5.x (e.g. this ROM and the Qtopia 2.something one from TrollTech.) Let me know if you want a more up to date build (and if the problem with SD card install is related to the plug-ins I can give you one with the plug-ins built-in, too).
