Barry, did you buy from a retailer (trisoft or such)?  Have you consulted with them?  Also conics.net has covers for the previous clamshells, he might have an idea of how to get them for yours.

I got mine from PriceJapan.

Saludos

In this forum I find https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...?showtopic=2785

And searching in google I found:

Will my Japanese unit work well in the USA? What about the 100v/110v voltage difference?

All of the portable electronics that Minidisco brings in from Japan can be used in the USA. We use these units ourselves, so reliability is very important to us.

Many of the portable electronics (and all of the portable MD units) that Minidisco brings in from Japan include 100v (Japanese) AC/DC transformers and rechargers. However, these units work equally well on the slightly different USA (110/120v) current, and plug directly into two-prong USA wall sockets.

One of the main reasons for this is that AC/DC converters and battery chargers are built to function within a wide fluctuation of voltage. In fact, there is often a major difference—at times up to 20 volts—in the actual output voltage between any two wall sockets in the USA (and often even between two sockets in the same house!). In over four years, we've never seen a Japanese MiniDisc unit damaged because it was plugged into a US (110/120v) wall socket, nor have we noticed damage on batteries charged with Japanese rechargers. The bottom line? Your Japanese unit should work fine!

If you're still concerned about the voltage difference, we offer a range of voltage adapters for modulate the USA wall current. Click here to see them!

I am trying to buy an Zauri 860. I ask with Bret (conics.net) and japan-direct, with the second they send me a power converter form 100v (japan) to 110v (US). I don´t know if it is necessary this converter, Do the EA-72 works fine with the US voltage?

Is necessary or better that I buy the power converter?

Thank to the zaurus community for their answers.
