Cxx0 Hardware / Cxx0 Docking Station?
« on: June 16, 2004, 03:28:14 pm »
Totally Cool!  The business card holds my 860 at a better angle for portrait viewing than my stand (due to overhead lights reflection), and it is even more portable!
Thanks for providing the link to the tip!

General Discussion / SL-C860 loose screen hinge

I wouldn\'t go so far as calling it wobbly as the close is solid, but it does move a teensy bit side to side on the central hinge.  So I\'m guessing normal.

Cxx0 Hardware / Cxx0 Docking Station?

I haven\'t seen a cradle, but I use a stand when I want to prop the Z up in portrait mode for hands free viewing.   I got the stand with the IR keyboard from Pocketop, maybe you can find something similar.

Cxx0 General discussions / C860 keyboard stops responding problem
« on: June 14, 2004, 07:36:32 pm »
Occasionally the keyboard will stop responding.  Usually after I have a lot of programs loaded, so maybe a memory problem? A reboot fixes this, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen the problem and knows a better way to get the keyboard going again.

I\'m running Sharp\'s Rom.

Occassionaly I used to wedge a piece paper to keep the screen from slammiing into the lock position when I used the stylus (using a heavier combo pen stylus), but it seems to be holding up better now except when opened very close to the lock position.  I don\'t know why, you\'d think wear and tear would make it slam down easier!

I\'d like to be able to use TimeSleuth in landscape on my C860!

Also Gutenbrowser.

P.S.  Once you have the IP address set up you can set up the Zaurus in My Network Places on your PC so you can access files from explorer and other windows programs.

I\'m new to the 860 too about a month using it.  Unfortunately I can\'t find the FAQ that walked me through setting up the Z as a drive, but here is what I recall.   After you finish installing the device driver from the CD which it sounds like you did already.  Run the setup.exe on the CD to install the Japanese software.  The second item is the one that will install the software.  I believe it installs 3 programs  Intellisync, ZaurusShot, ZaurusDrive.   You\'ll have desktop icons for the software and icons in your systray once it installs.  They are in Japanese, but if you hold your mouse over the tips will show you the program name so you can run the one called zdrive.exe.  Now you can drag and drop files onto the Z, or work with files on your Z on your PC.  Since I can\'t sync with my calendar app on my PC, and since IntelliSync program is in Japanese I haven\'t messed with it.  But I read that you can install an English version of Intellisync for the older z\'s on the 860.   Just Remembered:  I believe you have to set the IP address on both the PC & the Z to get the zaurus drive to work.   Click on Zaurus Manager in the PC Systray   Set the connection to USB - TCPIP, hostname to zaurus, ip address to 192.168.129.201, on the Zaurus go to Settings-]Network and set the PC Link Hostname, USB IP and the Connection to the same values.   If this doesn\'t work post the problems, I may be able to dig up some memory cells to help out.  Hopefully I\'ll find the FAQ again and can post, cause it had some good stuff on it!   Good Luck!
