General Discussion / Need Help Connecting Opera

Hello,
My school recently modified their wireless access points.
Before I could connect to the net with opera, but now the access points are wifi only.  For windows users, there is a portal they can go through to access the internet, but us Linux users must find our own way.  What I can do is log in to the school's linux server, and from there I can use lynx for internet access, so I am looking for a way to route opera through the linux server.

Software / Keypebble crashes when scaled

Hi,
When I run keypebble (VNC client), everything works fine as long as I do not scale the image.  If I do turn scaling on, it will run untill I touch the screen.  Once I touch the screen 'poof' it crashes.
Anybody run into this before?
This is on a 5500 with OZ 3.3.5

I guess I should add some info.  I have 2 comps with MDK 10 official.  One is my attempt at a home web server and the other is my regular desktop. They are called ServerPenguin and FloorPenguin.  The there is my Z, it is called PocketPenguin.  When I installed ServerPenguins OS I selected the medium setting for security and I this is likely my problem.  I can ssh into ServerPenguin from FloorPenguin so I know ServerPenguin's sshd is working (although I did need to add 'sshd:ALL:ALLOW' to the /etc/hosts.allow file.)  I can also ssh into FloorPenguin from PocketPenguin so I know that PocketPenguin's ssh client is working.  But I cannot ssh into ServerPenguin from PocketPenguin: I just get the prng not seeded error.  So what should I do?

this does not work for me on the 5500 with OZ.  it says the file already exists.  any thoughts?

OK, I got it working, it was just a problem on th server side.

Now I have got to say that this is the coolest thing I have ever done with my Z so far.  To be able to see and control my other computer from across the house (or from school) is priceless.  I wish I could see the look on my wifes face when the music starts playing and her web page keeps changing but she doesn't know why.  LMAO.

So like I said it is working, but if I try to scale it at all I get a SIGSEGV error when I touch the screen.  Any thoughts on this?

I guess I should also say that when I just tried to run it from the comand line and what it says:

connecting...
connected, logging in...
waiting for server version...

and that is where it sticks.

Is it a port problem then? I do not see a way to change it from keypebble and KDE seems to be set to auto and everything is grayed out.

Hello,

I installed keypebble (running OZ, installed keypebble from the stable feed) and I do not seem to know what I am doing.  I set up KDE remote desktop to accept uninvited connections with a password and when I try to connect from my zaurus the bottom of my screen says 'connected' for like a few seconds (only if I try display 0, otherwise I get connection refused) but it does not do anything else.  Isn't it supposed to show the remote desktop next?  I have searched for like the past day and a half for an answer but no joy on that.  Any insight?  Or any links to a place that has good info on using keypebble?

Software / I am so lost-->video stuff

What I was refering to as a test video you can get at http://www.zeb.uklinux.net/encoding.html its just a movie trailer at a couple different frame rates and sound types.  I think its nice to have a file that is known to be playable on the Z when first trying to get video going.

General Discussion / Always have to mount cf after suspend

How do I fix this? Every time I turn it on from suspend or switch cf cards, I have to go to terminal and mount it even though it correctly displays the new card on the taskbar. This is on a 5500 with OZ 3.3.5, my cf wifi works without any problems but when I put in the memory cf it looks like it loads it on the taskbar but no files are accesable until I mount it.

I\'m sure it wouldn\'t be that hard for them to make the same case but give it a little bump on the back for the battery.  There may not be as many 5600\'s I guess but it seems they are more in need of a good case.

I think that you would have to be sub-human to hold that belief, but you are entitled to it none the less.

man I knew I could have thought of a better name than braindrop.  

but yes many people do feel the way you do,diversity is good. its all good.  

By the way, as a prioir farm hand, dairy cows spend great lengths of time in their holding bays but they do it for years so its not as bad but the time might equal it out some.

Do I understand this correctly:
The docking port syncs using usb via the cradle but the docking port itself cannot be configured as a usb port?

Just wondering as I would like a way to utilize a second cf card.
