sirhc7,

I believe that you type prep-home-sd.sh -i to return to defaults.

Now whether that takes you back to a blank state, I do not know; but I had read that in derekp's initial explanation.

Thanks, Doug.

I'm afraid I've given up on tkrom 2 -  couldn't get it to be stable; shame, it was excellent in every other way. I ended up using the Hybrid ROM with Qtopia 1.6.2, and it's almost perfect.

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks very much, Bill; I did search pretty thoroughly, but was looking for tkrom in the name.

Cheers,

Chris.

Could anyone point me to the async kernal for TKRom 2 alpha3, please? I have installed the one from the ROM, and have many problems.
If DerekP happens to read this, I have used your recommendation, i.e. -s 20 -t -c -f ; am I right in thinking I should just use this minus the -f with the new kernal? Also, could I just flash the kernal, and is there some way to remove the -f without re-flashing the whole ROM?
I hope that is all clear and makes sense - I have never used the terminal before, and am gleaning what I can from the forum - had a fair amount of success so far!
Many thanks to anyone that can help.

Sharp ROMs / "not enough internal memory for working"
« on: September 19, 2004, 05:45:36 pm »
If it helps anyone, what happened was I had created a swap file on the RAM, using the memoryapplet  (thanks Maslovsky), and although I had removed it, it was still using up all the remaining internal storage. I removed it using advanced FM, and all was well.

Sticky keys, like on Psions, would be really useful to save needing simultaneous key presses for Caps and Alt.

Sharp ROMs / "not enough internal memory for working"
« on: August 31, 2004, 04:03:02 pm »
My 5500, tkrom 1.0, won't let me instal any software, because it says the internal storage is full. But all my apps except the Sharp PIMS are on SD card, and I have changed nothing from the last time I installed something, at which time virtually all the internal storage was available.
It won't even let me instal to SD card, it says  "not enough internal memory for working", even though I have 12 mb free. It also won't let me set up a new wlan connection, saying "Insufficient memory. Cannot create setting information."
Yet apps open no problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!

General Discussion / Opie for dopeys

I had the same problems with the Opie 1.0 feed for the Sharp 3.10 ROM.
There is a new feed for Opie 1.03 - I\'ve installed a lot, and the only one that caused any problems was the clipboard applet - made it reboot every 20 seconds. Here\'s the address:
http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/sharprom/1.0.3/
You need Opie pics and inline-pics to \"see\" some changes. I think libopie is a must for many as well.

Thanks, but it\'s all new to me - is that easy to do? Does w2k have an FTP client? Is that a silly question?

Thanks a lot, offroadgeek. I tried the command prompt, but still when highlighted it said AVG.Update. I even downloaded, changed the name on a friend\'s iMac, burnt it to disk, and put it on my computer - still it said AVG. I also tried on the Z but it said \"file not found\" - probably me though, I\'m still learning; I\'ll persevere with it.
Anyway, your speedy assistance is much appreciated.
Chris

When I rename the tkc initrd file to just initrd.bin, w2k says it is an \"AVG.Update\"  file when I click on it, under the \"initrd.bin\". I tried flashing anyway, the lights stayed on for about 20 seconds, then went off. The flash failed, and it re-boots to Qtopia.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did have AVG antivirus, but I removed it a while ago.
Hope I\'m not doing something stupid!
Many thanks.
