Security and Networking / WEP problems with WLAN-cards on C860

I'm having the same problems with a wlan card from Simple mobility. Everything works fine when connecting to AP's that aren't using WEP. But on my wlan network in the office I can't connect with the right keys.

In my case I can't even put in the essid, because there is a space in the name itself. Editing the config-file manually didn't solve this either. I've been trying to solve this a few weeks with all the threads and documents I could find, but unfortunately to no avail. So I've given up on it and just use my laptop instead. It just took to much of my time to figure it all out.

Too bad this only works with orinocodrivers. I can\'t use them on my card. Only wlan-ng will work for me.

I\'ve tried the hostap drivers, but nogo. I inserted the cardctl ident info in de conf-file, but connecting to a wifinetwork doesn\'t work.

I seems it stops here. I\'ve been trying to get Wellenreiter and Kismet to work on while, but it just doesn\'t. So I\'ll give up for now. :cry:  Let\'s see if there are beter versions available in a few months.  :wink:

I never got kismet 3.10 to work, but 3.01 worked fine for me.

Sorry for the typo and misconception. I am using version 3.01c.

You need to run kismet_server first I think.

I\'ve installed libpcap, kismet 3.10c and kismet_qt on my c860 with the sharp stockrom, using the how-to\'s and manuals on this forum. When I fire up Kismet (with root priviliges) it says: \"Can\'t connect to server\".

I\'ve tried changing configuration settings and so on, but to no avail. Any suggestions how I get this working?

Ik heb net een Zaurus C860 besteld bij Shirtpocket en ben erg benieuwd. Ik heb pas recentelijk van deze apparaatjes vernomen. Ze lijken me perfect.
