Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 3.3.6pre1 on 5600- ipkg trouble

Thanks Lardman. I found some more information regarding gcc2 compatability with  OZ 3.3.6pre1 on the Opie website at http://opie.handhelds.org/cgi-bin/moin.cgi...dcompat_20HowTo

Am I right in thinking that there's very little software compiled to run with gcc3 so far. Does anyone know of any gcc3 software repositories?

I've flashed my sl-56000 with 3.3.6pre1 and everything seems to be working, except that I can't seem get any ipkgs installed to root. Using the package manager, they appear to  install fine, put when I click on the desktop icon, nothing happens. Trying to open them via command line gives me:

'program name' relocation error: 'program name': undefined symbol:_7QString.shared_null

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

                                                                   Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 5600 3.3.6-pre1 logout problems

You're right. I threw down: #echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk  and that did the trick. She's purring like a kitty now.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 5600 3.3.6-pre1 logout problems

I'm a full freakin newbie so please bear with me here. I flashed my SL-5600 with OpenZaurus 3.3.6-pre 1
and everything is sweet as pie, barring several small issues that I hope someone can help me a bit with:

1. I can't seem to log out. When  I select 'Logout' from the Opie launcher, either nothing happens, or it just hangs.

2. The task bar at the bottom of the screen is often replaced with a few lines of console text, as if that portion of the gui has suddenly dissapeared.

Any light that can be brought to bear on this would be greatly appreciated
