Isn't the 3700 the fat one? No, no, I don't like it.

Are the  the Zaurus, the not-so-supported-and-discontinued Yopy, and mabye a Ipaq with Familliar or the Archos our only choices?

That doesn't leave us much freedom. But I guess I can't really complain. The Zaurus is really sweet. If the Archos becomes supported too, It also enters the sweet devices domain. But I don't see that coming.Soon.

Why does Amazon list it as the "PMA430" but Archos calls it the [a href=\"http://www.archos.com/products/overview/pma_400.html]"PMA400"[/url]?  If you look at the Amazon photos, the model number printed on the device is "PMA400."  Are the PMA430 and the PMA400 the same thing?

430 stands for 400 series with 30G hard drive. There will be a 80G version.

Just like its AV400 has AV420 and AV480, two versions

Sharp ROMs / Zaurus Installer W/ A Lot Of Files

I did not try but you can rename your debroot to be .debroot on  your CF/SD card.
This is the normal way to avoid searching.
Downside is the whole .debroot/ is  then totally hided from application like image viewer.
NOt sure if you can manually tap into this .debroot/ to view some images under that.

Hope this helps

Hi smuelas,

The link to your xmodmaprc file is down again. Could you or anybody
please just post it in the forum?

   Thanks

when i have a "calendar", a "music player" and a "terminal" opened. I cannot use vi in terminal to edit a file, because /dev/shm is full. It's by default 1m. I guess this partition is created in "RAM". If so i can make it bigger through the fstab. Can you confirm ?

I had a similiar problem. Seems it does not work by changing size in fstab.

As a temporary solution I just symlink /dev/shm/tmp to anywhere I want.

After the job is done ( I was compiling something) , I move it back because from other discussions that tmp/ should be remaining in RAM to avoid wearing on your CF/SD.

   Hope this help

I got kismet working by following the instructions exactly at

linklink

as a newbie user, one thing in the instruction I did not follow immediately was
to run the kismet GUI as root, which can be set by tapping the kismet icon longer.

In the config it is also set to be "root". By default it is not set I remember.

I tried to set it to "zaurus" and run but it does not work.

Hope this help

General Discussion / What's Next After Kismet?
« on: December 02, 2004, 03:21:15 pm »
Hi,
Sorry for this newbie question but after kismet, my Zaurus 6000 can detect
a few wireless AP.

What is the next step to set up the wireless connection to any of the AP?

Thanks
