Dunno if this will help but in order to get my symbol/5500 to work with my mixed mode b/g router, I had to disable WEP. 'course this is a known issue on the 5500 so it may not apply to your setup.

I've got a zaurus C700, Cacko 1.22, and a Symbol Spectrum24 card (LA-4137).

It works perfectly fine when I set the router at B-Only mode. When I set it to G (Obviously), and Mixed modes. The card doesnt work at all (It says connectring, light blinks a bit, but no AP mac address and it fails)

Any ideas ? I've managed to get a B card working on my notebook via pcmcia, and also a G card working. But for the zaurus, my network has to be set at B only. This is quite a pain as there are places I dun have control of.

Any idas/hacks ?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / 1.05 Vs Rc9 :)

Debating on which version to install... 1.05 or RC9

My usage requirements will be speed (Are either/both using the new kernels that enable to C700 to go faster, forgot the name of that patch) Since both SDKs are out, I can always compile up my own apps if needed.

So is there any glaring problems with 1.05, or should I just take the jump to RC9 ?

I'm already reflashing to pdaXrom  Will be very happy to get the latest dosbox 0.63 from you.

I'll be running stuff w/o sound.  Hoping for the best.

Does the dosbox for pdaXrom uses X11 or SDL ? Is it possible to start it w/o starting X Then if its using SDL-framebuffer ?

DOSBox will run in SDL on Sharp-based roms, as well as X,
so it's not a technical requirement;  but most of the other interesting
emulators require X, so if you want to emulate things *other* than DOS,
as well, go with pdaXrom.

Additionally, I've noticed some keyboard quirks under SDL-framebuffer
that I don't see under X11, in DOSBox, so it may be a good idea anyway.

Now...  DOSBox builds prior to 0.62 seem to run fine, but >0.61 are BROKEN
by default, due to memory alignment  problems.  I'll post a patch for 0.63 if
you're interested; but I build binaries for pdaXrom only.

DOSBox IS SLOW.  Games that are largely CPU-bound  (or which halt on user
input frequently) have a subjective feel of a high-end 286, or low end 386.
Games that are heavily graphics-intensive have performance about that of an XT
or worse.   Think "80286-12" on average.

Sure it is there, perl 5.8.5 at http://mirror1.pdaxrom.org/current/; it is 2.7 MB.

Anyone knows any good perl packages for pdaXrom ?

Couldnt find any even on the unstable feeds.

I'm an old game freak. Got tons of my XT games all nicely archived, was hoping to play them on my zaurus (C-700)

I've been reading around and realise dosbox and most of the dos emulators work only on X, so I'm venturing on getting pdaXrom installed instead of cacko-rom. (I dun use my zaurus as a pda anyway, more of a platform for code editing (joe) and viewing files.

Anyone knows of any good sites for dosbox on the zaurus ?

General Discussion / Tickypip Cant Find Level Files :(

i copied all my nw*.pdb files over to /opt/Qtopia/share/tickypip/levels  but it didnt work. These are my old pdb files from my palm/SL-5500 days. Only thing changed is tickypip i guess. Was this changed ?

When i started the game it just shows a blank list (no map packs)

nope. no format, both were vfat.

i used swap on them though, gonna stop using swap for now.

Got me a new C700, installed cacko, love it.

I got a new toshiba 1gb SD card, works fine on pc and the zaurus.

3 days later, the zaurus keeps hanging on me, a reflash didnt work.

I plugged out the sdcard and it worked ! (grrr), plugging it in my pc detects as "no card detected"

So its busted, going for a 1-1 replacement later.

Just wonder, has anyone managed to kill a SD card before ?

Did you format your SD card with ext2?

I got 2 dead Panasonic 256 MB SD  and one dead Kingston 512 MB SD on my Z's.

All three ext2 formatted.

Now I do not format any SD-Card with ext2 any more...

OK, this is really bad..

1 weeks after I got my toshiba 1gb SD card replaced, its dead AGAIN. (After 1 week of normal operation)

Gonna get it replaced and maybe use it on my notebook/pc. Gonna try out other brands of SD.
