Will you be keeping this on the market for a while?

I'm really interested in getting it, but I don't have the money at the moment. I should do in about a month.

Hi session,
I will keep it for sale here for a while then I might put on auction later on.
I will have to serve the first person seriously interested but may contact me again in a month, you'll never know

For Sale / Wanted / Sold: Zaurus Sl-3000
« on: April 01, 2006, 12:54:16 pm »
Hi,
I am selling my Zaurus. It was bought less than a year ago and has only been used at home. I originally bought it to participate in development of Linux in small devices. Unfortunately I do not have time to do that anymore so I prefer to sell to someone who might be able to put to good use better than me. You will get what you see in the picture below (except the iPod dock!):
...

That is:
* Zaurus SL-C3000
* Planex and D-Link 11Mbps wifi card
* Socket Bluetooth card
* USB connection cable
* World traveller cable
* Original Z box

I am selling it for 400 Euros + 30 Euros Worldwide shipping from Switzerland.
I accept money order or bank transfer as payment.
Send me a private message or email me: techmetal at bluewin dot ch for any further questions or if you are interested.

Thanks and regards,
Lloyd

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Cacko 3k Usage Poll
« on: June 25, 2005, 06:23:37 pm »
I'm currently testing bluez on the cacko3k but I can't seem to find the init scripts for it. It's supposed to be in /etc/rc.d/init.d/bluetooth isn't it? Where is it? Because of this missing script I'm now wondering if I was able to make a complete Cacko ROM install. Is there a way to check this?

Otherwise I'm able access and use the usual BT utility commands (hcitool, sdptool).

I might be a bit late on this but I've finally installed cacko3k on my Z. So far everything works great! The Planex wifi card didn't work (even after installing the modules from the Sharp support site) initially but after adding an entry in /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf, the Z managed to get a wlan connection!

Windows Issues / Migrate From Palm To Zaurus

Multisync supports sync on multiple devices such as the Palm and Zaurus.
http://multisync.sourceforge.net/
I haven't tested it but it may be possible to "route" your Palm data to your Z, or maybe backup your Palm data to text files then sync those to the Z.

There's a new driver for the Planex card released by Sharp:

Security and Networking / Planex Wireless Card On C3000
« on: April 28, 2005, 08:11:04 am »
OK, I've managed make the wifi card working. The Zaurus doesn't seem to send any kind of DHCP request to my access point so the connection just times out and fails. Or maybe my access point doesn't recognize the request sent by the Z.
When I sniff network data on my access point (a Dell router running OpenWRT). I only see this:

Code: [Select]
root@dhcppc0:~# tcpdump -vvv -i eth2 ether host 00:90:cc:bc:4b:b3
tcpdump: WARNING: eth2: no IPv4 address assigned
tcpdump: listening on eth2
00:17:13.523385 zaurus > Broadcast null xid/R: 01 00 len=0

Otherwise when I try to read wireless network data using my laptop I don't see anything sent by the Z.

If anykind of network sniffer is available on the Z, I can be able to see network data it sends, then maybe determine why DHCP doesn't work.

Security and Networking / Problem With Planex Cf Wifi

My conclusion? the card is dead... $60 thrown out to the garbage.  No one I know is going to Tokyo, and CF cards are not seen in Peru... In a country where a HP 1710 is worth over $350 (the Palm T5 around $600), I really doubt I can find CF Card.

Before throwing it to the garbage, try sending it to someone who has time to play and test it. We can at least find out if it is indeed, *dead*
That is of course if you're willing to go through the trouble of finding out
Then again, and after all that you've found out, it seems it is really dead.

Security and Networking / Problem With Planex Cf Wifi

Hmm, that seems pretty weird.
I have the same wifi card (though I haven't been successfull in getting it to work). In my case the card get's recognized when I insert it, but the LED only lights up when I try to start a network connection.
I don't know if the same thing happened to you when you got it to work but everytime I start a connection my screen flashes on and off for about three times before the connection fails.

I, for one would like to know how you made your wifi card work.

PS. Seems that I'm not the only metalhead here

Security and Networking / Planex Wireless Card On C3000
« on: April 13, 2005, 03:18:47 pm »
I have trouble making a Planex 801.11b wireless card (GC-CF11X) to work on a C3000.
After installing the linux-wlan-ng_0.2.1pre26-c3000-1_arm.ipk package, the card gets detected on insertion and removal. But it never gets to associate even with a unprotected access point.

How can I debug and follow what actually happens from the moment I start a network connection?

The syslog file (attached below) seems to point out many errors but I can't determine which actually causes my connection to fail.

I'm out of ideas, any recommendations?

I got no response from the Ebay vendor of the card regarding shipment to Europe.
Luckily, suid was able to buy one for me and send it to my address. I'm currently waiting for the card to arrive.

Just bought one for myself and couldn't just ignore the interest expressed by Gondola and TechMetal, so I bought a couple of extra ones too.

Hope you two guys are still interested.

I really haven't thought too much about payment, but I do have PayPal and Nochex accounts. Looking at earlier posts, the cost would be 10 pounds plus 3.25 postage to Europe.

Hey thanks. Yes I am fully interested but I'm wondering if this card will work for all Zaurus models. I'm in the process of ordering a C3000 which I'll hopefully receive next week.

I understand the hassle that this might generate. I tried asking the seller if he'd ship to Europe so I'm keeping my finger's crossed. Let's see...
If ever one of the four cards you bought never get paid, you can it reserve for me.
