I thought this was just a cache issue initially, but I have tested it on my Mac and on a Windows Computer at work.

Opera Version 9.22

When accessing the forum, Opera gives the following error, Firefox works fine on both platforms

You tried to access the address https://oesf.org/forum/, which is currently unavailable

Anyone else had this problem?  I searched the forums but didn't find any other reports.

Debian / I Want It Compiled !
« on: December 17, 2007, 09:06:11 pm »
I would really like to see
ko/pi
compiled for debian eabi.

It is the only calendar program which I have been able to get to work with ical synchonisation with my thyme calendar server.
Interestingly, the full korganiser doesn't bidirectionally sync properly.

Try this:
Quote
#setserial /dev/ttyS4 baud-base 921600
#hciattach -s 921600 /dev/ttyS4 bcsp

No joy

with
setserial /dev/ttyS4 baud_base 921600
hciattach -s 921600 /dev/ttyS4 bcsp

I still get BCSP initialization timed out

I am having a bit of trouble getting my (Socket Rev G I think) bluetooth card working
would like to use PPP via GPRS, had this working OK in pdaXrom

yonggon kernel 2.6.23.9
I have installed bluez-utils

pccardctl ident:
Socket 1
product info: "Socket", "CF+ Personal Network Card Rev 2.5", "."
  manfid: 0x0104 0x0096
  function: 2 (serial)

hciattach: returns nothing

dmesg:
pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 1
pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia1.0
pcmcia: request for exclusive IRQ could not be fulfilled.
pcmcia: the driver needs updating to supported shared IRQ lines.
ttyS0: detected caps 00000700 should be 00000100
1.0: ttyS4 at I/O 0xc48403f8 (irq = 169) is a 16C950/954

hciattach /dev/ttyS4 bcsp
BCSP initialization timed out

any ideas?

Debian / Twitchy Or Jump Mouse?
« on: December 17, 2007, 05:13:03 am »

i had/have the twitchy mouse issue, using titchy (not sure what the titchy kernel is? just says it's a 2.6.20...). i did rmmod mousedev and the twitchiness drastically reduced - to the point where it's not such a *huge* issue, but is still there a small amount. i can at least live with this lower level

I am also having the same problem with yonggun 2.6.23.9
rmmod mousedev helped a bit but xournal is still not very useful
any ideas what is causing this?

Off Topic forum / Zaurus Compatible Gps Phones
« on: September 02, 2007, 09:21:50 am »
I would like to get a GPS enabled phone that I can use as a GPS receiver for my Zaurus.
Does anyone know of any GPS phones that will allow NMEA protocol to be used by the Zaurus over bluetooth?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Panasonic Toughbook Cf-08

It might but most probabbly not as it is currently for any of the Z models as the hardware is different.

I've seen x86 based toughbooks running standard x86 linux that might be quicker then porting to a new hardware ... and there is a x86 based model that has 12 hour battery life (the toughbook cf-w5 or cf-t5) ... but I think that for the price of the toughbook you could buy more then one 3200.

Thanks for the info,
it is really hard to find devices with good battery life!
Pity the other toughbooks aren't tablets, really wanted that form factor.
Other x86 options are electrovaya 3100 (8 hours) or fujitsu p1610 (6 hours)
Or an irex iliad even....

This is starting to get really off topic though....

I am interested in getting a device for working with PDFs (I have to read a lot of them doing research) so, I need something with:

- a good screen (indoor/outdoor)

- lightweight (<1.5kg)
- will run linux

[img]http://www.stotthoare.com.au/files/photos/thumb/88_CF_08_large_image.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /]

The only device I have found which satisfies these criteria is the panasonic toughbook CF-08

But will pdaXrom run on it????

Deals and Great Z Buys / Battery Needed

I've gone ahead and bought the one through eBay. I'll report any problems once it gets here from Hong Kong, probably next week.

I replaced my C3100 battery and have had no problems using a higher capacity battery - but I do recommend using your usual battery when first installing pdaXii13 for the first time, it seems the battery calibration can get out otherwise.

I love the form factor of my 3100 but sometimes it would be great to have a larger screen (for reading/annotating PDFs).  Vgaout is trcicky to say the least so I have been looking for the most stripped down screen that could be coupled to the zaurus....

The closest I have found is the Viewsonic V210 or V212
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/mobilewi...splay/index.htm
It has a 10" touch screen and 4 hours battery life.  It uses a wireless interface and has a CF port (V212). Weighs about 1.3kg

Sounds perfect... but it runs windows CE and as far as I can see it does not support a VNC client program

Not sure if it's hackable (runs strongarm 400mHz) and I haven't been able to find any sites saying that anyone has tried.

Is this likely to be feasible?

I am also getting a segfault with error (sudo makes no difference and I am running a root session)

Can't open mixer device /dev/mixer
mbmenu: no _MB_THEME set on root window

I have noticed that the icewm theme browser doesn't seem to load the themes, even when I change the settings to the correct directory /usr/share/icewm/themes

might be a related problem?
I am running pdaXii13
