Security and Networking / Compiled Security Tools For Cacko 1.23

does the Z have enough memory and cpu power to run aircrack successfully? I would have thought it'd be ideal for doing the packet capture, but wouldn't be able to crack a wep key in a reasonable period of time.

When you capture enought IVs, you can crack a wep key in less than 5 minutes on a 2Ghz PC.
So it may translate to 30 minutes on the Zaurus. I think that memory is not a problem.

Sharp ROMs / Usb Bluetooth Cpu Usage
« on: January 17, 2007, 12:51:30 pm »
Hi !
I use everyday an Ovislink BT usb dongle, and I have no CPU usage problems. The CPU is at 100% during 20 seconds when I plug the dongle but it's because of the buggy hotplug scripts (I've done a quick hack to reduce this down to 5 seconds). Moreover the dongle current consomption is very low.
Cheers,
  Ludo.

Hi !

I've compiled some wifi security tools for Cacko: aircrack-ng, hostap drivers 0.4.9 with packet injection, and latest wireless-tools.
Everything is here: http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zaurus/#witools

Enjoy!

Sharp ROMs / Hostap Drivers 0.4.9 With Packet Injection
« on: January 16, 2007, 06:44:17 am »
Hi !
I've compiled hostap drivers 0.4.9 with PI for cacko 2.4.20 kernels.
http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zaurus/#witools

They work nicely with aireplay-ng ! (and[[ they work even better if you have a prism2
card and use the 1.7.4 firmware instead of a 1.8.4).

So I tried to crosscompile it and compile it on the Z with zgcc. But in both cases I get this error:

Yes, the code is not compatible with gcc 2.95.x.
You can download my ipk and sources here:

Software / Latest Aircrack-ng Compiles
« on: January 15, 2007, 10:54:02 am »
Hi!
I've compiled aircrack-ng 0.6.2. It has been compiled with gcc 2.95.x to work with cacko, but it should work on any distribution.
The ipk and source is available here: http://www.drolez.com/software/zaurus/#witools

Sharp ROMs / D-link Dcf-660w Not Working With Cacko 1.23

Did you get this resolved?  I have a similar problem, ref https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=20772

I also had problems with a card being suspended 1 second after insertion (pxa_pcmcia_suspend(0) in dmesg).
I traced the problem: the pcmcia subsys wants to stop the card, and then wants to start it. But that's too late, it's stucked in suspend.
So the suspend must be disabled: after adding SCHEME="" in /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts , my card worked perfectly ! (a zcom / ellink xi 815).

Cheers,

Ludovic

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Does The 3200 Sd Driver Support Sdhc?
« on: January 03, 2007, 08:01:27 pm »
It seems that the changes to support sdhc were not too important :-)

But now for 2.4 support... who wants to patch the sharp binary driver ?

So it does work with 2.4 kernel, as long as you stop the GPS apps before unplugging?  Does this require a powered USB hub, or can this run directly off the Zaurus?  The manufacturer's site only states that it is "low power."
Yes, with a 2.4 kernel you have this problem with the cp2101 driver. I'm sure that it does not happen with a 2.6 kernel. For power, you can plug it directly on the Z, it uses less than 100mA.

Hi!
Everything is here: http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zaurus/code/
In the atmelwlan* archive, you'll find the modules for the 2.4.20 kernel in the objs directory.
Keep me posted, if it works (or not) !
Cheers,
  Ludo.
