I don't know if this post is meant for support. Feel free to move the reply. I extracted the rootfs to an SD card but kexec fails to mount it. debug info shows that it recognized ext4 as a filesystem but next command which is supposed to mount the card for the menu to appear fails "can't mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 invalid arguments". It doesn't fail on the micro harddrive of the c3200 where I have a previous rootfs installed with kernel 4.4.0. Any info on why this happens and what to do? I tried two cards one 2gb and a 16gb, both show the same error. After I'm booted in the previous rootfs from the hard drive I can mount the sd card without any problems. Thanks for the info.

GPD - Linux OS / Live Distros That Work

I installed Xubuntu the version from the site not the customized one which would start booting from a live USB but then showed a black screen only. I could bypass that blackscreen and boot to the live distro with nomodeset as a kernel parameter. Yes display is on portrait and in the settings in rotation in Xfce there was no option to rotate it. I haven't tried any other boot parameters but I installed it in a USB and I am currently dual booting. I am going to find that WIFI file that is needed to make wifi working again and then I'll try updating etc. I will try later on the custom Xubuntu iso from http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/2016/10/...-trail-and.html . I will keep you updated.

I never used the provided charger (not much trust there) and bought another one (Anker 36W 4usb) with 2.4A output and works great for the time being.

I have a case from my Old 3DS XL that fits like a glove. But there is no extra space for peripherals chargers etc. I bought some random cases from Amazon from BUBM and the Amazon Basics one which could be good alternatives but in my case I want something less bulky just to avoid a random scratch here and there not lots of crap. If you want pictures just ask. I'm on the lookout for a good/small usb hub now.

Debian / Customized New Rootfs

I haven't messed with my Zaurus for a loooong time now. It is sitting in a shelf with a "would like it to work dual boot w/ Ubuntu + Cacko" but it doesn't. I am in the middle of an examination period now and I really want to put Andromeda back to my trusted little machine and hope that I can get my Prism Planex GW-CF11x card to work flawlessly. So because free time is scarce at the moment and I would like to take my SL-C3200 with me during the summer vacation I would like to know if there are any updates in yongun's kernel (which is the latest) or an updated EABI image (since we had the release of Debian 5.0 in the meantime) or anything else (post install script fixing minor stuff) I might consider to have it up and running in a little time. I just want networking to work (probably WPA too) so I can have unlimited space to upload photos from my camera.

A second question would be if there is a problem with sdhc cards? I was using Andromeda w/o problems with a 4gb card but due to heavy usage it got some bad blocks and discarded it for a new 8gb kingston one but it doesn't seem to work. And if anyone had/has a problem with that kind of wireless card could point me to one that does indeed work "out of the box"?

Or you can untar manually the files where u want them and use an updater.sh to only flash the kernel. I did it that way.

I guess by CF card we mean a CF drive and not just whatever card like wifi? Hmmm any other way to tell it I'm using hda?

Thank you yonggun I guess I'll give it a try on my C3200 when the download is finished and hope to get my Planex wifi card at least blinkin'. Can we have md5 checksum?

Edit: I tried to install it but got an error. I made the partitions using fdisk /dev/hda one for the rootfs and the other swap. When I tried to flash the kernel was flashed ok as it said but then it tried to umount and format the /dev/hdc instead of /dev/hda had some modprobe errors and the final piece of info is that it couldn't load a filesystem for rootfs. I tried to fdisk /dev/hdc but there is no such device. Any ideas?

Debian / Dualbooting/multiplebooting With Kexec!

Hello there I just tried to get my dualbooting zaurus up and working with Debian on Internal Disk and Cacko in NAND. I got a full working Cacko system I applied the patch for the hdd requirement and everything seemed to be ok even after I flashed eviljazz's better kernel. ( I couldn't make my wireless card to work but that's another issue) Then I fdisked my internal drive to a 5.7GB hda1 partition and the rest of the microdrive as swap. I put on hda1 the debian eabi rootfs of the other topic installed everything and then flashed with yonggun's latest 2.6.24.4 kernel with the updater.sh on the post from ZDevil. When I rebooted I had a problem loading Debian something about not mounting root filesystem properly then I tried fdisking again untaring again the debian eabi and this time I flashed yonggun's kernel with the angstorm updater.sh and gnu-tar. Everything worked alright I logged into Debian. I couldnt get the wifi network card working there either (I insert it i see those messages but there is no light blinking or anything, it's like it doesn't want to try to connect) anyway. I installed kexec-tools.deb and it asked me if i wanted to kexec a particular kernel at boot and I chose "0" no (not sure if i did the right thing) then I run the script after i put it and the eviljazz's kernel renamed to "sharp_zImage.bin" in the home folder...everything seems to run alright but when it goes rebooting it starts loading Cacko but  says something like:

lnode #<random number> was a directory with children - removing those too...

.
<a bunch of those messages with different numbers each time>

VFS: Mounted root (jffs2 filesystem) readonly
Freeing init memory: 84K
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

and that's it just stays there. I don't remember if i got these messages when i only had cacko installed, i think not. Any ideas what that is or what it may mean or how to solve it?
Since my debian install seems to be working properly. what can i do with the NAND if there is no easy solution to that problem? Just leave it like that?

PS: I had that problem with "initial console" so I did something like MAKEDEV console and everything was ok after that.
PS2: btw that tune2fs command for journalising ext2 didn't work on my zaurus it just complained that tune2fs was not found.
