I know it's alreayd out there, but the page it was on has gone. . . IPK for Zaurus?

Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Zaurus is too slow to emulate AMIGA computer at reasonable speed. But if you want to try it here is a link to binary:

Hi!

here is many ATARI ST emulators for linux based on SDL library. One of the best is Castaway 0.92. Can anyone make binary for Zaurus.
http://castaway.sourceforge.net/st.html
I saw only old 0.1 binary for zaurus

Kindly regards,

Konstantin.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / New Packages Uploaded To Unstable Feed

Hi all,

I've uploaded some files to the pdaxrom unstable feed.  The packages are compiled with the RC8 SDK but should work OK with RC9.  Thanks to pgas for lending me his account to do this.

Hi!

Great job - very useful programms, but don't work on RC9.1. I have checked grisbi, qhacc, e-uae. E-uae - segmentation fault. QHAcc & Grisbi start but can't change preference or save data. Can you recompile grisbi with RC9 SDK?

Good luck,

Konstantin.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Movie Playing In Pdaxrom

Hi guys,

In the past I have used Kino to play different futurama episodes in divx. I don't currently have time just at the moment to investigate the same in pdaxrom so i'd love to get the gossip on the current state of affairs.

I've seem that the new mplayer build for cacko is now allowing 640*350 video playback?!?!  Cool, i thought it could never get better than 320*240 due to the lack of vram?

I'm not interested in watching video of 640x * resolution, as i don't even encode my divx at that rate for playback on my pc (512*3??).

Is the same performance in cacko now available in pdaxrom, and more considering the vfp...   Has anyone being playing divx videos somewhere around 400 * 300 resolution full screen?
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Just use last version Mplayer for Zaurus from atty. It work under Cacko & PdaXRom.

Awesome work! Your mplayer works very smoothly on my Zaurus SL-C3000!!!

And the bvdd version of mplayer, said to be optmized for C3000, actually crashed my C3000,    I don't why.
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Dont forget to install bvdd driver else your C3000 will crash. Use -vo bvdd option

Good Luck,

Konstantin.

OK, I just tested it. It is about 3% faster than my version (not 10%) but a new source release is out, thanks for pointing me to it. Maybe I can get it faster :-)

(benchmarks below)

Code: [Select]
mplayer-static-softvfp-ipp:

BENCHMARKs: VC: 446.442s VO:   2.349s A:   0.000s Sys: 111.881s =  560.673s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 79.6261% VO:  0.4190% A:  0.0000% Sys: 19.9548% = 100.0000%

---
mplayer-atty:

BENCHMARKs: VC: 474.755s VO:   2.605s A:   0.000s Sys: 124.336s =  601.697s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 78.9027% VO:  0.4330% A:  0.0000% Sys: 20.6643% = 100.0000%

---
mplayer-static-softvfp-ipp-nofastmath (same as top minus -ffast-math)

BENCHMARKs: VC: 451.735s VO:   2.251s A:   0.000s Sys: 112.733s =  566.719s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 79.7106% VO:  0.3972% A:  0.0000% Sys: 19.8922% = 100.0000%

mplayer-atty-01-31-2005

BENCHMARKs: VC: 433.065s VO:   2.282s A:   0.000s Sys: 115.162s =  550.508s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 78.6663% VO:  0.4145% A:  0.0000% Sys: 20.9192% = 100.0000%
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Just try BetaPlayer benchmark file: 320x240x512x128x44100xstereoxBFramesx2passDivXxPortrait - 10% speed difference - Settings of your video file is not optimal for video on Zaurus.
[a href=\"http://picard.exceed.hu/samples/RL_MQB_320x240_512_128.avi]http://picard.exceed.hu/samples/RL_MQB_320x240_512_128.avi[/url]
But  if you can make it even faster - will be very nice!

Best Regards,

Konstantin

One preliminary result is that this version of mplayer can now play WMA files properly, although I had to overclock my Zaurus. Processor load is still very high - 60-70%, but prevsous versions couldn't do even that.
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Atty has released today new version of Mplayer for Zaurus 1.0. This version is about 10% faster than version from this topic.

type a comma.
Hi!

Just disable KeyHelper - type 'khctl disable' in konsole before running Frodo. After Frodo gaming don't forget to 'khctl enable'.

Sharp ROMs / SNES Problems on Cacko
« on: November 10, 2004, 05:25:06 am »
Quote
I just tried the .desktop trick on 1.20.  It worked fine for Earthbound and had 3 smaller screens to the left for Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG.  If I try it from the command line, it still just freezes solid.

So it appears that snes9x gets progressively less functional as the Cacko ROM gets newer.  At least for me, that is.

Edit:  Well, Earthbound was working fine.  When I tried it again after trying the other ROMs, it started doing the small screen thing.  After exiting and trying again, it appears to have frozen solid again.

I've run both NAND and RAM diagnostics through the service menu, but both turned out fine.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Edit... again:  Everything (except Mario RPG, but that was expected) just magically started working again.  Didn't do anything but reboot a few times after it froze.
What version of SDL lib do you use?

I recomend LibSDL from zports site - it is 100% compatible with last cacko rom without freezing and screen distortion. Use Snes9x SDL_2 version from suhami.net.
But this library is pretty slow

If you need to get maximum perfomance try to use piro version of SDL (modified w100). You'll get perfomance boost 20-30%. I get 50-60 fps with sound when processor mode is set to overclocked.

Good luck,

Konstantin.

Software / KDE-Pim/Pi 1.9.10 Release
« on: October 27, 2004, 01:53:20 am »
Hi!

For me is important 2 big issues in KaPi:
1.  If i use table view of my contacts without datails and then press "Ok" to view details of contact - and then press "Cancel" - it exit from Ka/Pi and not from Detail view as in standart PIM.  I need to use stylus  - it's no comfortable.

2. Sync with Sharp DTM - issue is Mobile Phone field. It don't sync with Home Mobile or Work Mobile in Sharp DTM.  Where i can setup field mapping like in Intellisync?

Best regards,

Konstantin

P.S. Will be very good if your PIM applications will work with cyrillic encoding. Now if i use categories in russian encoding Ka/Pi, Ko/Pi and PW/Pi drop down.

General Discussion / video playback on zaurus c-860

i cant seem to find the divx settings it the program you told me about mabey
you can help me encoding with program creates a bit of a better picture still the
audio and video or out of sync and its choppy
Usage of w100/IPP optimized player:

1) if you have 320x240 44100/128/stereo portrait video
$mplayer -vo w100 -fs -dr -vop rotate=1 -quiet test.avi

2) if you have 640x352 22050/32/mono landscape video
$mplayer -vo w100 -fs -dr -af resample=44100:0:0 -quiet -framedrop test.avi

Important: if you have encoded video with samplerate lower than 44100 you must add -af resample=44100:0:0 parameter!!! Else you miss audio/video sync and perfomance drop down.

Note: you can play files with resolution more than 320x240 for example 428x240 (16x9) without loosing perfomance if you add smart crop -vf crop=320x240.

About using PocketDivXEncoder read help

Good luck,

Konstantin

General Discussion / video playback on zaurus c-860
« on: October 26, 2004, 08:04:55 am »

Hi i need help for some reason i can play simpsons episodes and famliy guy episodes on my zauri and they play just excellent with kino 2 but when i try to play
divx movies the sound legs its pixelized to hell and choppy and hence not even watchable is there some kinda a program you should run the divx through before
you throw it on your c-860 i need help cause if it cant play full movies correctly lol what was the point of spending so much money lol please help would be great or better video program for zauri would be good to even a process and programs i can use so the video looks proper on the so called high res screen the c-860 has
i remember the ux50 played good divxs and the screen was half the res and only had a 123 mhz processor

Download w100/Intel IPP optimized mplayer from
http://atty.jp/?plugin=attach&refer=Zaurus...re5.1-1_arm.ipk
and you will be able to view 320x240x512 kBit/44100/128kBit/stereo/Portrait
or 640x352x248kBit/22050/32kBit/mono/Landscape movies without framedrops

Now Anton Maslovsky make great work to integrate this highly optimized mplayer in Kino2 v0.4. (new Cacko 1.22 ROM)

Best and simpliest way to convert DVD to Zaurus is using PocketDivXEncoder 0.3.50 if you use Windows. Very fast (use last mencoder) very clear (2 pass DivX encoding)
Don't use XVid codec - it's slow on Zaurus (i don't know why)

And to get maximum perfomance don't use portrait videos - rotation slow down mplayer by 2 times. If you try to play 640x352 portrait videos - you'll get slideshow

Good luck,

Konstantin.

Can you release a ipkg of the player for us to install on older roms now?  I wouldn't mind the new functionality; I'm finding the version in 1.21b isn't playing a lot of files.
