Trolltech®, provider of leading technologies for Linux and cross-platform software development, today announced the launch of Qtopia.net, a new community Web site devoted to Qtopia®, the company's market-leading development software for Linux-based devices. Qtopia.net is designed to be a central resource for the growing ecosystem of Qtopia customers, developers and users, providing comprehensive technical information, the latest downloads and a forum for knowledge sharing. "Qtopia's position as the standard development environment for embedded Linux devices is becoming more established every day," said Haavard Nord, Trolltech CEO. "The open source community has a strong interest in creating third-party applications built on Qtopia, and Qtopia.net is designed to encourage and support this work by increasing information accessibility. By the same token, Qtopia.net will be an important resource for commercial Qtopia developers and customers, such as device designers and OEMs."

Qtopia.net provides easy access to a wide range of information about Qtopia software, related third-party software and Trolltech partners. Qtopia tutorials, Web forums and the latest Qtopia news are available. In addition, users can get access to both GPL and commercial Qtopia downloads, a special, PDA-specific version of Qtopia and Zaurus ROM images.
