recompiled the kernel with video4linux, then compiled the quickcam module, and added the device nodes..

Will be available in the qtopia rom from Trolltech.

Any signs of the Qtopia ROM for the C1000 ? I would love to give it a spin - but I hope it also includes the other USB device support that do work on the standard Sharp rom apart from the quickcam support.

Hope this also percolates down to the other ROM's - like Cacko.

are you going to make a package for the sharp rom to install those modules or do we have to replace it with the trolltech version of qtopia and ditch the sharp rom? i have that camera lying around and it would be great to be able to use it. i also have a few other cameras lying around as well...

are you making all the usb/v4l cam modules?  it isn't too many, and svt680 stuff can be had for a couple of dollars on ebay. would be cool to have basic plugnplay camera options.

also... what software uses it?  tell ,e you have video for kphone working:)

well, I went and compiled a usb camera driver from http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Download/sp...20050601.tar.gz
and asked Tetsu to compile his latest 18a kernel with v4l enabled and the driver module loaded for a few cameras I tested with.

worked:
Kodak DVC-325
Z-Star QHM500LM
Microdia Triplex X-Eye

not work:
Aiptek Slimcam 3200
Logitech QuickCam

Now what apps would be good for the Z to use these cameras with?

The Qtopia 2.1.1 rom has a camera app that will work if the camera uses video4linux.

I could not find qtopia 2.1.1 rom for the C3000. Is there a way I can extract the required files out of the roms without installing them?
