6000 - Tosa / Ti-84+ And The Sl-6000
« on: February 10, 2005, 03:56:30 pm »
So i picked up a Ti-84+ the other day.  I noticed it has a usb port similar to the one on my sl-6000.  closer inspection revealed that the two ports were different (mini-a vs mini-b i guess)  but because i am stubborn i tried to connect them via the cable that came with the calculator.  low and behold,  the opposit ends of the cable are also different sizes and although both ends seem to fit in a ti-84+, one will fit in my sl-6000.  So i plug them in and turn them on and i check the Device tab under System Info.

Under "USB", "* Ti-84 Plus" showes up with the following info:

Vendor: Texas Instruments, Inc.
Product: TI-84 Plus
Class: Vendor Specific
ID: 0451/e003
Driver: (none)

I Searched the forums to see if anyone has discussed this but i found nothing. Has anyone heard of this before? Is there software out there that I can play around with? Does anyone else own both an sl-6000 and a usb-enabled graphing calculator?

6000 - Tosa / Wine X86 Emulation On The Sl-6000?
« on: November 26, 2004, 07:17:36 pm »
The other day i was at a lan party and got an interesting idea.  Could i play STARCRAFT on my z sl-6000?  400Mhz Intex XScale and 64MB sdram should hold out quite nice for the game...

my first attempt was to install qtrdesktop.  It worked, but only as fast as it could draw each individual frame of animation (1fps).  The graphics themselfs did look most impressive on the screen, which only fueled my need to find another solution.

My next idea is to have starcraft locally installed and have an emulator like WINE (apparantly starcraft works with WINE).  The first problem with this is that i dont have a large enough CF Card to hold approx 112+ MB nor do i have any method to connect a cd drive.  To solve this would require money for a larger CF card and a USB CD Drive.  So, for now, i'm going to mount the starcraft directory and cd from my xp box via samba (i dont want to sink too much money into this yet).

My final problem is to find an emulator for the zaurus.  Does anyone know of an ipk or some method i can accomplish this?

much appreciated

5x00 General discussions / My Zaurus dilemma - screen scratches
« on: February 08, 2004, 08:21:27 pm »
A few days ago i pulled my z out of my pocket and discovered an unsightly scratch zone in the upper middle section of the screen.  I have no idea where it came from.  I cant stand dragging my stylus over it.

Is there any way to polish out the scratches, or make them disappear? also, what would you suggest i look for in a screen protector?

Thanks.

Sharp ROMs / Wellenreiter, Kismet and tkcROM
« on: January 22, 2004, 08:52:44 pm »
Hi, I\'m trying to get Wellenreiter II working on my SL-5500. Currently, i have the latest tkcRom installed. I have a Symbol Spectrum24 wireless card.  The card does work, as i have connected to the school network before with it.

Whenever I try to install, the ipkg process cant seem to install files on most of the dependancies.  If i ignor the errors, it turns out that Wellenreiter doesnt run at all.

I would also like to install Kismet and have that working. I can install it, but whenever I have tried to use it, i detect no networks.  If i insert my friends wirless card, it works.

now that i type it in, i wonder if it\'s a driver thing.   Does the latest tkcRom use the latest Symbol drivers?

thanks in advance.
