I assume people have read the latest update, and ARE aware of this, but for those who did NOT select "final" keyboard when contributing, it is "kind of" important. (I would dare to say it is the most important part of our contribution, otherwise we wouldn't have contributed towards a phone with a physical keyboard in the first place.... :-\ :P :o )

Here is the information needed to make final selection of keyboard (they only want those who selected "Other (select later)" for your keyboard layout when backing, or those who for some reason want to CHANGE their original choice, to fill in the form...), copied from the update:

If you have selected "Other (select later)" for your keyboard layout when backing the Astro Slide perk on Indiegogo, please use this form to make your final keyboard selection:

https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/9cb7e3d7c672463fab6999d59fd0b37b

And they would like for us to have made the selection by the 5th of September.

Hmm, where is the wysiwyg editor for posting? I know it is available in Simple Machines, but don't seem to see it here... I kind of prefer to edit with codes visible, and use preview to see how it looks anyway, but sometimes it would be "easier" to edit directly with wysiwyg. And others might prefer that ALL the time too...

Never mind, I apparently need to get my eyes checked: It's there, it's the last button on the right in the line above the smileys...

Astro Slide - Hardware / Screen selected for the Astro
« on: July 27, 2020, 01:07:22 pm »
Planet Computers have now selected the screen for the Astro:

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/astro-slide-5g-transformer/x/17943959#/updates/all

(Link correct at time of posting, you might have to find the 26th of July update, as they add more updates.)

Small excerpt from the update:

It is a 6.65" AMOLED display!

The display resolution is 2340 x 1080 pixels.

I interpret it as, although the screen is bigger than originally proposed, the overall size of the Astro should not change...

Gemini PDA - Android / New firmware for Gemini coming
« on: April 26, 2020, 01:21:33 pm »
According to a comment from planet on their Indiegogo-page for the Gemini there will be another firmware update for the Gemini:

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gemini-p...ce--2#/comments

(It is given as a response to a comment from Alex S., which is more or less on the top of the comments page at the time of writing this.)

So it seems they haven't completely abandoned the Gemini yet!!

Gemini PDA - Android / Vivaldi browser beta available
« on: September 10, 2019, 06:53:43 pm »
I apparently registered for news about Vivaldi on Android a while back, and now they have a beta out:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...vivaldi.browser

Vivaldi is Jón S. von Tetzchner "new" browser/company (after he left Opera). He is also a backer of the Gemini...

Hopefully someone will find this information useful...

Haven't really tried it much yet, but seems to support at least a few keyboard shortcuts.

Gemini PDA - Android / Problem with (html) data (cellular)
« on: August 15, 2018, 05:19:15 pm »
I had problem getting data connection (but only html it seems...) without WiFi on my Gemini the last day (and possibly longer; haven't been away from my home WiFi for a few days, and don't think I was using it the last times I was out either...). The kind of strange part was that I still had connection for my mail-program?

For some reason I couldn't get the SMS with settings working either (because the carrier doesn't "recognize" the Gemini??), but looking at the settings for the APN I think I found the problem: It had for some reason got a proxy-server configured/set. Clearing that got me my internet back...

Thought I should just post this for others who might have/get the same problem.
