The wireless refresh package works perfectly thanks Cresho! And thanks for the linksCapt and Jon, got the patch installed and my SD woes are now over

Thanks again guys, not just for this but for all the replies in all the threads... this community really has made my Zaurus purchase a real pleasure

Looks good I will definitely install that thanks Cresho! Also, in another thread someone said you created a patch that changes the 1gb SD card limit on Cacko do you have a link for that to?

Thanks again.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko - Inserting Sd Card Freezes Interface?
« on: June 10, 2007, 11:06:49 am »
Its a 2gb Sandisk vanilla SD card. It was on the SD card compatibility list for the Zaurus that I found on here somewhere.

edit: Also, I remember the first time I booted after installing cacko on the loading screens it went round in circles about how the SD slot wasn't able to initialise or something (I had left the SD card in), but when I took it out and hard rebooted it was fine so I kind of forgot about it after that.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko - Inserting Sd Card Freezes Interface?
« on: June 10, 2007, 10:39:28 am »
I'm so close to having my 'perfect' Zaurus! Just got my wireless card working but now I have inserted my SD card it freezes the whole interface, cannot use the touchscreen or keyboard to any effect.

If I remove the card though it instantly goes back to working properly. I don't think it is the card as I have been using it since I got the Zaurus, and have flashed the Z three times with it.

Does anyone have an idea why it could be freezing the interface?

Sharp ROMs / Cacko And Planex Gw-cf11h - Can I Use It?
« on: June 10, 2007, 10:15:07 am »
Hey guys I managed to find the answer in here and with the help of google. Basically if your planex CF-GW11H isn't working just edit the file:

/etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf

And add the following lines:

card "PLANEX GW-CF11H Wireless CF Card"
version "PLANEX COMMUNICATIONS INC.", "PLANEX GW-CF11H Wireless CF Card", ""
manfid 0xd601, 0x0005
bind "hostap_cs"

Sharp ROMs / Cacko And Planex Gw-cf11h - Can I Use It?
« on: June 09, 2007, 04:07:05 pm »
Hey all me again

I rememeber finding a thread before I actually got my Zaurus regarding my wireless card - Planex GW-CF11H - and Cacko, and the method required to get it to work. I saved it to my favorites but after switching between windows and linux and reformatting I seem to have lost it

Before I dig through every thread on these bords does anyone know how I can get this card working on my Zaurus with Cacko 1.23 FULL? Currently when I click the card icon in the bottom right it says "Eject card 0: unsupported card"?

*** EDIT : FIXED *** SEE POST BELOW

Sharp ROMs / So What Exactly Is Cacko?
« on: June 08, 2007, 07:09:31 pm »
Great summary thanks. How does the speed of use/interface compare to the default SharpROM? I reverted from pdaXii3 back to Sharp due to the speed, but is cacko closer to sharpROM speeds than pdaXii3?

Sharp ROMs / So What Exactly Is Cacko?

Hey guys,

I do kind of get what Cacko is but I'm still a bit confused about how exactly it differs from the original SharpROM. The features lists just look like changelogs from the previous versions of cacko not the chnages to the SharpROM, so could anyone summarise briefly what cacko is and how it differs from the SharpROM please? Would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks!!

OK all done! Thanks.

I installed the Trisoft image though, and its a bit different from the one that came with mine. Is the image on the Trisoft site the latest SharpROM version?

I am trying to do the same thing but cannot figure out from this thread how it is done?

I have just installed pdaXii3 but I want to go back to the SharpROM. Where do you write those lines/commands?

Actually I'm a bit stuck already. When use pdaxii3 tools to re-partition microdrive how I do I get the necessary files into them without an OS? Or am I just being really dense?

Sorry for the such late replies guys havn't been on the forums since I posted it.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply Jon, helped a lot!! Going to give it a try today will let you know how I get on. Although am still slightly unsure what to do about the root partition size

And yea portalgod I did disable SCIM, still just a little to slow for my needs and I just don't have the use for 95% of the stuff anyway. Was a nice way to enjoy my Zaurus at the start though.
