Sharp ROMs / Planex Wifi 3200
« on: September 10, 2012, 12:33:57 pm »
Okay, I think this must be something simple because all the posts I could find say that it's supposed to work. I'm running a c-3200 with Cacko 1.23 full. The wifi card is a Planex GW-CF11H. When I plug it in the CF slot, it says it's an "unsupported card" and refers to it as "anonymous memory". The wireless monitor says it can't find a wireless device. But the little green light on the card does come on nice and steady. I'm still fairly novice, but I have flashed before and have no qualms with following any instructions regarding code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. () Thanks!

Sharp ROMs / Disable Screen Rotation
« on: July 15, 2010, 12:44:07 am »
I found this but was wondering if there's an easier way than editing each application? I would still like to be able to rotate manually using the little menu command, but I don't want it to automatically rotate when I change between clamshell and portrait. I'm using cacko 1.23 on a 3200. Any thoughts? Appreciate it.

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Z Won't Write To Sd
« on: June 14, 2010, 12:12:10 am »
Well, I actually did try that, and that came up nada as well. So I did what I probably should've done in the first place: I backed up all the files, formatted the card (fat32), and then put the files back.

Problem gone.

Not technically solved, of course, as it seems I'll never know what'd happened, but at least it does write correctly now. Thanks so much for the timely responses tho! I am glad to see these forums still kicking, and I'm sure I'll need help with some other things in the near future (my list is reaching critical mass). Good health, and happy coding! (Or is that bashing? ...hacking? Or is that a misnomer? ...You get me.)

You didn't format that card as ntfs did you?
Negative. Properties says, "FAT32". Never even tried formatting it. I can't fathom it... Works fine in my other SD slots... Just not on my terrier. No idea what could've prompted it...

With the new driver (fantastic, btw) I've been using an 8 gig sandisk class2 sdhc card in my z3200 for the past couple months without a hitch.

Until now.

I can't fathom why, but I am completely unable to write to or delete files from the sd card when it's in my zaurus. In my netbook, piece of cake. I tried rebooting. I tried flicking the switch back and forth. I unchecked that box that said "protection" in the files menu. I even went on windows and un-archived, and un-read-only'ed every file and folder just for kicks. No soap. I can read files, no problem. But I can't save to or edit anything on it.

And if it's a hardware issue, I can't wrap my head around it--I put in a 2gig non-sdhc and wrote and deleted sans trouble.

I'm on Cacko 1.23. Any thoughts? I'd greatly appreciate it.

...b/c the architecture doesn't change...

oooOOOOoohh. Okay. That's what I was thinking, but didn't want to lay down the bucks for a card until I was sure. Thanks much.

Is this under cacko, does brand of card matter, and did you have to install any special drivers?

Okay, SD driver works. (See above thread link.) That's fantastic. But right, so what is the highest capacity CF card you've been able to use? Anyone?

General Discussion / Larger Sdhc Cards On Sharp Rom

Backed up both Z and SD (better safe than sorry).

(Imagine Smash Bros Announcer here:)
"SUCCESS!"

3200 Cacko 1.23 Full (thinking of flashing to lite later)
8 GB SanDisk SDHC

*sniffle* My terrier's all grown up...

Oh, I Babelfished the blog (works better than Live translate, seems) and I was wondering, did the dude-guy say on there to uninstall any previous SD drivers before installing these ones? Did just be sure.

Still can't wrap my head around the possibilities now...

Yesterday I found a SDHC card driver that supports up to 32 GB SDHC: http://petit-noise.net/download/sdhc-driver

It appears to be for the Sharp ROM but will probably work with Cacko.

I don't know if you can read Japanese, the author says that he has experienced good stability with it but as always these things are at your own risk. I downloaded it but haven't got around to trying it yet (I want to do a full back up in case things go wrong). Please post here if you try it.

*jaw drops* I haven't been this overwhelmed since I heard the 5th season of Digimon announced.

Sorry, please excuse the adolescent ramblings.

I think *gulp* I'll give it a try. Even if Live Translate once rendered a Japanese page with the phrase "conveniently insane" in the main body. On a side note, that was trying to figure out how to get the pressure sensitivity on petite peinture to work. (Thinking about tackling that next...after the opie-camera...etc, etc...)

And yeah, I think I'll back up too, lest the driver renders me "conveniently insane".

Lord-willing, I'll be posting back soon! (Thanks!  )

Sharp ROMs / Highest Capacity Cf Card?
« on: April 23, 2010, 11:17:33 pm »
I read about the Transcend 4GB SD as being the highest capacity SD card save venturing into openzaurus/pdaxrom territory as it is the highest capacity SD card outside of SDHC.

Okay. I'm thinking I'll buy that.

But what about CF? If I want a wireless card I'll get one--that seems easy to look up--but just for sake of more storage,

what's the highest capacity supported CF card under Cacko 1.23?

Btw, I'm on a 3200.

Also, I read something about read-speed. What's that about? Should I be concerned about it? Is it basically like a hard-drive? Etc. etc. etc.

I tried reading through the stuff on switching out the internal drive for a CF microdrive...but that gave this newb/novice quite a headache. Plus I couldn't seem to find anything definitively final.

Though, again, I'm not particularly interested at switching out the internal (I flinch just at flashing) I just want to have more storage in the CF slot.

Any thoughts?
Thanks kindly --UMG

I don't know if it is appropriate to post this here, but I just had to say I am so glad the forums are back up. I think I'm going to try downloading a copy just to be safe in the future.

Getting withdrawals there for a little while...

Dont think its an issue

If you download the zip for your Z look in the instructions all the files for the ROM are in the ZIP, dont think I ever needed an additional kernel file after flashing the Z

C
You're right. He was able to flash it to cacko without issue. Thanks!

Btw, your sig is on the mark. "Keep your Z on a bungee..." After cracking the screen of my old husky, I'm definitely keeping my coming terrier on a lanyard. Better safe than sorry.

I'm purchasing a Z from someone on the forums. Looking at the mirror, this seems to be the japanese Cacko kernel? Does that mean it'll all be in japanese or will it be english with japanese support? If all japanese, does anyone know where the english kernel is? Or has it been lost? Thanks much.
