Hi Varti,

i just followed your instruction to delete all partitions on the SD card,
and format the 32GB Sandisk SD card with FAT32, plug it in, and voila,
it was recognized right the way.

BTW, do you have the cheatsheet to install pdaxroms ?

In addition, CACKO 1.23 comes with old WEP encrypted wifi authentication?

Do you know how to add WPA authentication into the wifi connection?

Searching on the web, I found some WPA_Supplicant info., but it
doesn't work.

I remembered the moderator told me there was a hard-disk failure,
and all the links were borken, and they didn't fix it.

Been a few years, but I'm pretty sure I was using the DLink card when I used Arch Linux ARM.

Thnaks. Finally I choose the DLink DCF 660w card, but I still can not make it work on ZALARM.
The 660w card is known to work on ArchLinuxARM and Void Linux. You need to use the correct driver and firmware for it to work.

More details in my response in this thread

Looks like the above link is broken.
Varti, could you repair it ?

Hi all,

I recently acquired a Sharp SL-C1000, and after much trouble,
I was able to flash the ROM to Cacko 1.23 ROM, and update the
SDHC drivers to recognize a 32GB SDHC card now.

The next thing to deal with is internet connection, and I also acquired
a few wifi and LAN CF cards from Japan:

(i)  Planex Communications CF-10T CF Ethernet adapter card
(ii) Planex Communications GW-CF54G 54Mbps wireless CF adapter
(iii) Buffalo Airstation WLI2-CF-S11 2.4GHz/11Mbps wifi CF Card

However, none of them seem to work.

Does anybody has experience using the above network cards and
set up the connection via wifi or LAN ?

BTW, what browser are you used?
The Netfront browser looks very old.......

Thanks Varti!

The 32GB SD card is recognized now after I delete all partitions, and do a
FAT32 formatting again.

Thanks for the info.!

I have installed the ipk on a SL-C1000 machine.

It has successfully installed, as I use "ipkg status zaurus-sd-driver-update" to check it,
and it returns :

Package:          zaurus_sd_driver_update
Status: install ok installed
Root: /
Version:            2.1-for-Cxx00

However, when I inserted a Sandisk Ultra 32GB SDHC card,
nothing happened. It doesn't show up in the Files app.
The card has 2 partition on it, and they are format in FAT32.
(FAT16 only support up to 4K)

Any Hint?

I am running on Cacko distro.

What distro does the SHDC/SDXC ipk runs on ?

Zaurus - Other distros support / Sharp SL-Cxxxx how-to tutorial for newbies?
« on: September 05, 2021, 03:28:54 pm »
I recently acquired a used Sl-C1000 from Japan.
Despite being a long-time Unix/Linux user, I still feel puzzled and unsupported
when trying to mod the machine S/W.

So, I qould like to know if  there a "how-to" file?
eg,  how to install ipks? And how to get a shell(text command shell)? ... etc

I try to install the SDHC support ipk by double-click on it, and this
lauches the package installer,  but the system complains that the
"file name is not supported" afterwards? Any hint?

I try to access the tutorial links, but they bring me to the frontpage of this website.

I guess they are dead. Does anybody save these tutorials and willing to share?

Thanks for digging up these tutorials. I was looking the other day and could not find them.

Zaurus - Hardware discussion / Sharp SL-C1000 SDHC support

Hi all,

I recently acquired a used SL-C1000 from Japan, and it only supports SD card,
which has a limit of 2GB, and the cards are expensive.

I tried to browse through this forum, but most file links are
dead due to its age.

Do you know any way to add support for SDHC card or SDXC cards?
Which Linux distro will natively support SDHC/SDXC?
Or is there some driver I can download?

Thanks for your input in advance,
