I wonder that there is no topic to select the three most important application for a Gemini. I use:
- Email: Aquamail - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...g.kman.AquaMail
- Calendar: Calengoo - (the most costumizable calendar) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...droid&hl=en
- File manager: stock

Blackberry Hub and Services (subscription required) - For mail: does my work email, 4 different personal email accounts, text messages, notifications from LinkedIn, Skype... On the calendar side it does my work calendar + gmail calendar

The File Manager is (not very creatively) called File Manager, by ZenUI, ASUS Computers Inc

I've now got triple boot. Getting into Debian was quite easy, but Sailfish was very tricky, and it took me four goes.
Turn off. I think I did by this way: Turn by on holding ESCape just long enough to start turning on. Then, when you feel the vibrate, hold the silver button and ESCape again just until the caps lock lights and quickly release otherwise you'll force it back off!

Thanx for the tip, that did it, I now do have Boot 3 Debian! It's just rather fiddly and the PC instructions weren't real exact. When you Boot 2 you have to keep the silver button pressed; so I assumed that in Boot 3 you (similarly) had to keep both buttons held down (i.e. so I was turning the thing off!)

I tried the triple boot all works apart from sailfish wont recognize my swipes from left to right? i want to flash back and try again but seems there are problems to get back to a single android partition again anyone done that yet?

Well, this seems a mixed bag. I too followed the PC instructions to set up a triple boot, and was less successful than you, but fared better than rubus-3.142  see https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?s=&...st&p=287648

I followed the instructions on the PC support page and went for the three-boot scenario (boot 1: Android, boot 2: Sailfish, boot 3: Debian) and the process ran through to completion. Achieved a partial success: Can boot "normally" into Android; can boot into recovery mode, can boot to Sailfish...

However when I try the boot 3 scenario ("Starting from a switched OFF Gemini, press the Esc (On) key to start the unit until the Gemini vibrates. Once you feel the vibration both Esc (On) key and silver right-end side button are pressed at the same time") I see the planet/tux screen, then it goes dark, then vibrates, then the planet/tux screen, then dark, then vibrates, then... endless repeat.

Haven't had much time in Sailfish (just really checked that I can boot into it), already a few issues... a) The screen starts off in the wrong orientation, but after a few minutes the rotation seems to kick in and it starts to switch... .  I have a voice mail, Sailfish recognizes it, but when I try to call to retrieve it says "No Network coverage."

I ordered the camera add-on May 6th, a while after I received my Gemini. In Indiegogo the status has been "ORDER LOCKED" for over 2 weeks now with no sign of getting it any time soon.

Gemini PDA - General Discussion / WiFi and 4g on
« on: June 11, 2018, 03:47:04 pm »
Normally I have WiFi running (and connected when when at home and at work, on the guest network) along with 4G. The other day I was shuttling from one work location to another (so 'lost' WiFi) when I found a bunch of apps that wouldn't work. Twitter said 'No internet connection,' Life360 said 'Check your network connection,' LinkedIn would not connect, Google Play said 'No internet connection. Make sure Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on then try again, " etc.  Well 4G/cellular data WAS turned on so I wasn't sure why I was seeing that error message! I checked all my data settings, rebooted, etc. No joy!

At work they have changed the guest network WiFi - now after connecting you have to launch your browser and acknowledge some use language. You don't have to do this all the time, only every few days. The other day I couldn't get connectivity and all these apps were "dead" for all intents and purposes! Turned out WiFi was showing "connected" but i hadn't gone to the page to re-acknowledge; as soon as i did that i was OK!

The bottom line: when I had no more WiFi my applications wouldn't just automatically continue to work using the 4G data connectivity, they all just say "No internet access". Shouldn't this happen/switch over seamlessly (i.e. if an app is connected via the WiFi network and loses WiFi connectivity, shouldn't it just stay connected via 4G?). I twigged to this when I turned WiFi off and they all started working immediately!

P.S. The only place I am aware of where I have specified to use WiFi only is in Firmware Update(i.e. only check using WiFi network)

EDIT: Found an "Aggressive Wi-Fi to Cellular handover" in Developer Options, so have checked that to see if it helps....

Hello ALL --

LOVING my Gemini PDA x27. Using it stock, 100%, have not done any rooting, etc, as I am bit green to that nowadays :-)

I am in South Carolina, USA and using it on Verizon. Works very nicely for the most part, which I will speak to in another post soon.

<SNIP>

Thank you for your review of my concern and hope that we can help others who may be experiencing the same/similar issue(s).

You posted this under General Forums - General Discussion; you might get more visibility (and thus greater likelihood of an answer) in the Model Specific Forums - Gemini PDA - Gemini PDA Android OS...

Because I need to quickly send pictures to the newspaper from various events, I needed a good USB-c SD card reader. I thought I'd read that the Gemini hub has an SD slot, but it doesn't. After shopping around a bit, I settled on this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019PI2WP...=UTF8&psc=1

It's tiny, almost too small, and reads both standard SD and micro SD cards quite well. It's instantly recognized by the Gemini (on the Linux side; I don't boot droid) and is supported for exFAT.

So if you have use for an SD reader, this one has been tested to work with Gemini.

For a little cheaper ($8.99 vs. $14.99) you can get this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JJ1VDQ...=UTF8&psc=1 Works like a champ! (at least on Android, not checked on Linux)

Gemini PDA - Android / How to (sticky key)
« on: May 21, 2018, 09:48:02 pm »
I'd like to somehow enable sticky keys for 'Shift" "Ctrl" and "Fn" but can't find any tip/trick or way to do this. With most of my entry being thumb-typing, pressing Shift and then the letter to capitalize (i.e. consecutively) is much easier than doing so simultaneously! Any solution?

Gemini PDA - Android / Login
« on: May 21, 2018, 09:44:30 pm »
Fixed the alarm/login issue, there was some setting in Clock that fixed this. However, the problem with login (first entered password does nothing) is still an issue most of the time!!

Not weird.....

GeminiPlanet site is run by a guy, Mike that is into Gemini PDA....this is not a Planet Computer website.

But thanks for sharing the info.

Nice to see Mike share link about OESF.

Ah, hadn't realized it was a fan site!

Hi,
Thanks for your email. We are happy to hear you're enjoying your shiny new Gemini. While we encourage and appreciate communities like OESF, at this point we are unable to link OESF due to the volume of other similar forums. Feel free to get back to us if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Erkan

Not what I was expecting......

Oh well..............

Mark

That's weird..   There IS a link to OESF   Granted it is under More -> Forums (and not More ->Links); also not at the Support page...
