Cxx0 Hardware / Charging Level Monitor On C860/oz3.5.3

AC adapter can do 2.5A at 5V
Gulp - I've heard nasty things about using chargers with too high a capacity - I think the Z relies on current limiting within the charger.  I'd recommend you use a charger that can't supply more than 1A, and I hope you haven't fried your charging circuit or reduced the life of the battery too much in the mean time.

Another thought that came to mind, is that if any system time setting is done on a
resume, that could be a factor causing a hang.

I have a feeling that this is indeed what caused the hang, and the kludge is to restart the window manager to avoid this situation.

Sorry to be so vague.

As far as I know, this is the kludge to prevent the window manager hanging after the machine has been switched off for a while.  It is annoying, but better to do this than to have to reset the machine (or kill the window manager via ssh if you happen to have a server running and remote access!).

Beta2 has apparently fixed this problem, although I haven't tried it yet.

Can this topic be pinned, or the advice added to a pinned topic?

Could it be that the font(s) used in the Word file are not available on the Z, and it's not defaulting to something that is?

From what I've read, the CF problem is new to Beta2, so will hopefully be stamped on pretty quickly.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Lots Of Keymapping Questions
« on: March 08, 2006, 09:07:22 am »
Funny how you don't notice the keys you don't use: the two "little Japanese ones"!  Could not the other one be mapped to turn the numbers into function keys?  Then you'd only be missing F11 and F12 - maybe it could map O and P to these?  (You don't want to use shift, Calendar or Address, as these can be used in addition to modify the function keys.)

This mapping conflicts with the one used by scheck.r!

More unmarked keymaps:

Fn-Q (lower or upper case with shift) for the Scandinavian A-with-a-loop thing!
Fn-O (lower or upper case with shift) for the Danish O-crossed-out thing!
Fn-P for £ (Pound Sterling sign - not # which Americans sometimes call a pound sign)
Fn-A for ae (lower or upper case with shift)
Fn-S for € (Euro symbol)
Fn-M for backtick

That only leaves Fn-Z, Fn-N and Fn-5 unmodified.

Suspend and resume seems to work better.
Does this mean you no longer need to sit around while it restarts the window manager after being switched off for a while?

That's a rather interesting project.  Perhaps you could simply your signature in a similar fashion?

Gladit worked out!  I think the mode was "managed" by default, but I can't be sure.

Power light?  Which Z do you have?  There isn't one on the 860.

Can't seem to figure out how to drag windows in beta 1... it used to be something like holding down shift or function while dragging but this doesn't seem to work any more?

Hold down Alt (Address).  Still works for me on my 860.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / New Ko/pi Alarm Solution
« on: January 08, 2006, 11:33:50 am »
Really brilliant work, all of you.  Haven't used alarms on kopi before and they're quite sophisticated, warning you if you've missed any, etc.  I can confirm that it works with the lid closed, too - being able to press the button on the back to silence the alarm is good for panic situations!

Could the atd package be updated to call '/etc/rc.d/init.d/atd start' once it's installed?  Otherwise it's a bit confusing that it won't work initially.  We don't want a Windows-style "please reboot now" situation!    In the mean time, maybe you could edit your original post to include this instruction?
