Gemini PDA - German / Vokale mit Accent mit deutscher Tastaur schreiben

Mir ist es bisher nicht gelungen, auf der deutschen Tastatur Vokale mit einem 'accent aigu', also wie über dem e in Café zu schreiben. Geht das tatsächlich nicht? Bei einigen Lehnwörtern aus dem Französischen braucht man das ja auch im Deutschen.

Gemini PDA - Android / Using HDMI adaptor under Android

I bought the USB-HDMI adapter from Planet, but it doesn't work. Neither with my TV set (Loewe) nor with a classroom projector. At one try with the TV, the picture appeared a few seconds on the screen but then it disappeard. Seems that, while there is obviously some HDMI output from the Planet adapter, there is some kind of synchronisation or resolution problem.

Once a year, I provide a course for a customer who has a MS surface hub in the lecture room. For presentation, it connects via wireless LAN with Windows laptops. Would this also work with Gemini? Would be really great.

Gemini PDA - Android / Which Office App to use?

I mainly use MS Word and MS Excel but sometimes also WPS. In particular, WPS is better to open Office files created with older desktop versions of MS Word.

Thanks for the hint. I had already tried the three dots but then thought that 'send' means to send a new mail. So, I never tried it. Now, I do no longer see any limitations in using K9 on the Gemini.

Gemini PDA - German / Planet Computers Agenda App

Habe jetzt mal eine Weile auf Reisen die Agenda App verwendet. Wie schon vermutet, habe ich mich hinterher entschlossen, bei Calengoo zu bleiben. Die Agenda App bietet aus meiner Sicht keine effizientere Bedienung als Calengoo. Da mag sicher eine Rolle spielen, dass ich an Calengoo gewöhnt bin. Für einen Umstieg müsste mir eine alternative Lösung aber auch einen gewissen Mehrwert bieten. Den sehe ich bei der Agenda App nicht. Die Wochenansicht von Calengoo ist ebenfalls hervorragend für das Querformat des Gemini geeignet. Ich kann mir allerdings vorstellen, dass die Agenda App genau das Richtige für manche alten Psion-User ist, die bis heute an ihrem S5 festhalten. Der alten Psion-Agenda kommt sie schon sehr nahe.

I also use K9 on my Gemini. The scrolling is not so relevant for me since you can easily scroll through a mail using the touch screen. Another issue is that you cannot directly answer a mail in reading mode. The answer function is somehow hidden in landscape display. To answer a mail, you have to leave reading mode and go back to the message list. It somehow works but is a little bit less convenient. In general, I'm quite satisfied with my Gemini. However, I do not use it as my only mobile device to sompletely replace my smartphone. As a smartphone, I will keep using a Blackberry. The Gemini is rather for travelling to relieve me from the need to carry a laptop. You can indeed do a lot of things on the Gemini you cannot do this way on a smartphone. Most disappointing point for me is the poor support of external monitors and projectors. One intention to buy a Gemini was to use it as a presentation machine at meetings, conferences, etc. Unfortunately, this doesn't work.

Ja, das Problem mit der Navbar besteht bei mir auch, sie verdeckt aber nicht ganz so viel wie in deinem Screenshot. Bei dir scheint ja auch links etwas zu fehlen, hast du eine andere Bildschirmauflösung eingestellt?

Ja, nach einer Neuinstallation funktionierte es auf einmal. Werde die Agenda mal probeweise nutzen, vermute aber schon jetzt, dass ich eher bei Calengoo bleiben werde.

Hallo dogomalaika,

so hatte ich es ursprünglich gleich nach der Installation schonmal probiert. Dann besteht jedoch das Problem, dass unter Synced Accounts mein Google-Account nicht angezeigt wird. Es wird nur PC Sync angeboten. Den Account gibt es aber auf meinem Gerät, und andere Kalernderprogramme synchronisieren darüber auch anstandslos.

Ich habe in dem Fenster dann auf abbrechen geklickt.

Was meinst du mit "abbrechen"? Bei mir gibt es in diesem Fenster nur die Optionen "Konto erstellen" und "Weiter". Mit ESC oder Zurück-Button fliegt man aus dem Programm raus. "Abbrechen" gibt es nur in dem Fenster, bevor man zur Eingabe der E-Mail-Adresse aufgefordert wird. Damit wird das Programm aber auch sofort beendet.

Habe die Agenda mal installiert. Beim Eingeben eines Termins fordert sie mich auf, ein Konto anzugeben, mit dem synchronisiert werden soll. Wenn ich jetzt mein Google-Konto angebe, kommt die Fehlermeldung "Dieses Konto ist auf Ihrem Gerät bereits vorhanden", siehe anhängende Screenshots. Was soll denn das? Natürlich ist es bereits vorhanden, sonst würde ich es ja nicht wählen. Ich bin auch nicht auf "Konto einrichten" gegangen. An dieser Stelle bleibt der Prozess dann hängen.
