C1000/3x00 Hardware / Sandisk Connectplus Wifi Card & Cacko?

The link to the instructions on how to install this card is broken on the Hints & Tips page.

Anybody have it working?  What the firmware that allegedly needs to be installed?  How is that done?

Cacko seems to be very nice so far but I have a TON of apps to install.  The "put them all in a folder and install them at once" method didn't work for me.  First off, this installs them all to internal and I want to install them to the sd and second a lot of them wouldn't install at all.

Thanks in advance.
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I have (had) the SanDisk ConnectPlus WiFi/Memory Card working.

The app is loaded and then activated from Terminal.

One toggles between Net or Mem.

Can't lay my hands on the IPK just now.

Try here:  [a href=\"http://www.bentzon.net/acb/sandisk.html]http://www.bentzon.net/acb/sandisk.html[/url]

I broke mine somehow and the CF port is showing busy -- anyone know
how I clear that port?

Thanks!  doc
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115819\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

When I enter: "/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart" I get:

cardmgr[15280]: open_sock(socket 0) failed: Device or resource busy.

What do I try next, please?

Thanks!  doc

have you tried taking out the card and rebooting?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115955\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Yes.

/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115973\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

This has to be done from superuser (su then enter password at the prompt) because
if one does not one receives errors re. lack of permission.
{I add that in case someone really new to Linux reads this.}

When I enter: "/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart" I get:

cardmgr[15280]: open_sock(socket 0) failed: Device or resource busy.

??  Thanks!  doc

EDIT -- ***SOLVED***

Just noticed that when I try an Eject on my card slots it shows the SanDisk
card still in the CF slot even though it is not.

When I run Eject on the SanDisk it fails.

I uninstalled the SanDisk WiFi/Memory app.

I ran Restart instead of using the Power Off the Power On button.

I then re-installed the SanDisk app.

Tried to activate the SanDisk app as User and permission was denied.

Activated the SanDisk app as SU.  OK.  One odd message "umount: /mnt/cf/: Invalid argument"

Opened Opera and clicked Connect.  Worked!

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Unmounting Problems

I am having problems unmounting various media on my C1K. I am running the stock ROM with Tetsu's kernel.
...
Any help to point me in the right direction is appreciated.
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
You might try using fuser or lsof to see what is using the media. I'm not sure if programs compiled on a 6k will run ok on a C1k, but here is a link to [a href=\"http://rose.public.iastate.edu/zaurus/lsof_4.75_arm.ipk]lsof 4.75[/url] compiled on a 6k if that helps.

Just read this thread and am still stuck on my C1000.

I cannot eject my CF card "CF/PCMCIA Card Eject Failed!"

I have tried cardctl suspend and cardctl suspend 0 and cardctl resume and cardctl resume 0
and most cause errors and others occasionally are accepted but I still cannot access my CF
card as it is said to be busy!

Help, please?  Thanks!  doc

I just use opie-reader with a plucker version of the bible that works great for me.  You might want to try that.

Plucker is just a document format that opie-reader can read.  I think it supports many document formats but I just happened to find the bible in the plucker format for opie-reader.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115813\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Thanks for the clarification!  Thought it might be a regional colloquialism
with which I was not aware.

I will check out Opie Reader and the list of Plucker-type Bible resources.

my piel frama case protects it from those accidents to the point that I have to sometimes push it twice to turn on.

$112. USD plus shipping is a bit too rich for my budget!
Nice cases though.

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Power Button Protection?
« on: February 22, 2006, 01:20:33 pm »
I keep accidently bumping the On/Off button on the front edge of my C1000.

It generally happens when I am inserting or removing a SD, CF, or USB device.

I think they should have recessed it just a little more.

Anyone use a couple of small stick-on buttons like that which cushions the lid
to make accidental power-off less probable?

Where might I find an ipk for Just Reader, please?

Just Reader works well.  Thanks!

I will go and grab qpsword -- do I need the unifont package for my C1000 w.Cacko?

qpsword is a little weird on the C1000 but works.

I downloaded a couple of translations (ASV & KJV) plus a bunch
of reference materials (MHCC, Naves, etc.).

When I open ASV I see no menu item to call MHCC or any of the other apps.
What am I missing, please?

I am really excited to have multiple translations and Bible resources on my
C1000!  The resources of WordSearch got me through the Seminary and
many sermons and teaching contexts -- the C1000 will prove equally valuable
I am sure.

The NET Bible is HTML, so no need to wait for a PDA version. I use Just Reader to study (very readable on my sl5500), because it loads the links to the footnotes quickly. I run qpsword alongside mostly for the Strong's, ISBE and commentaries.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115640\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Wow, I downloaded the NET Bible but couldn't unzip it on my C1000 (anyone recommend an unzip
ipk?)

I unzipped it on my laptop then transferred it to a SD Card.

Not only is it huge but it is slow and unavailable to search as-is.

Where might I find an ipk for Just Reader, please?

Anyone know of a ipk for a Cacko-friendly pdf reader, please?

Try handango.com, click on Linux link, and type "Bible" in search box. There are free pdf or html versions of the King James Bible.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115608\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I need something that is not translation-centric.

I tend to prefer modern translations with lots of translation detail embedded.

The NET Bible and the Amplified Bible are personal preferences.

What I like about the Sword Project is that it equips one to choose the translation
or translations one prefers.

When dealing with older Christians and/or those raised in more traditional churches
I may use the KJV a lot as they are comfortable with it.

When dealing with new believers Elizabethan English is not helpful.  There are
also words in the KJV that now have the opposite meaning so that one would get
the entirely wrong message.  (I do not wish to engage a translation debate.)

Given the imperfection of the translation process I let the Holy Spirit guide me to
the English phraseology that best causes my mind to get the correct message --
always consistent with the rest of the Word and of course with the character of
God.

Sorry for the extra commentary, just felt the need to explain why I cannot make
use of your kind suggestion.

I would like to get a bible on my Zaurus SL-C1000.  Is there anything free?  Or anything at all?  What is the best method of doing so?

Cheers!
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
I just read something in the software megapost on sword and dagger and jsword from project sword.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115521\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
I tried it on my SL-C1000.  Doesn't seem to work right.  It only shows one book.  I wish I wasn't limited to tablet mode.

Anything else out there?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115528\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

There is a discussion of porting the NET Bible to the Sword
project here:

Linux4christians mailing list
Linux4christians@thelinuxlink.net
[a href=\"http://www.thelinuxlink.net/mailman/listinfo/linux4christians]http://www.thelinuxlink.net/mailman/listin...inux4christians[/url]

Nothing specific to the Zaurus other than my mention of it.

I tried one of the apps and it didn't display well either.  Guess
we will have to offer to test Sword Project apps on our C1000's
so they are sure to tweak them to work properly.

I am still unclear if JSword will run under any of the versions
of Java that may be loaded to the C1000.  (I am using Cacko
and do not know how that impacts the Java choices.)

Currently I do not plan to work on that driver. Why? I have no interes in it - no plans to buy it.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=115541\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Perhaps you could sell the driver?

Or those who want it could make donations toward your time and talent?

Is there another equally low priced "g" card that already works or for which you
are developing a driver, please?

Thanks!  doc
