Wireless Card -- Please Help
« on: February 19, 2005, 04:13:29 pm »
Hello Everybody,

I have a Zaurus SL-C860 with Cacko rom on it. I would like to buy a Wireless LAN card but was wondering if you guys could please recommed any.

I not a newbie at this and do not know any code hacking and stuff like that. I was wondering if you could suggest a simple card that the Zaurus would automatically detect without much hassel.

I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks everybody and have a GREAT day

From what I've read, and I'm a total noob to Zaurus but experience on many other systems, if you really want a no-brainer, get a "symbol" or "socket" wireless lan card. Ebay is probably your best bet.

I pretty much have the same setup you have: C860 running Cacko and I have a SMC EZ Connect (SMC2642W). I plugged it in and it worked right off the bat and has been consistently for about a year now.

I hope that helps.
SL-C860 (Cacko "Elena" ROM)
SMC EZ Connect WIFI CF (smc-2642w)
Hatachi 4GB Micro Drive
SanDisk 512 SD
SanDisk 256 SD
PDair Case

At the moment I'm not able to run kismet with that card. And I think nobody can. If you want the card o connect to your AP only, no problem. But kismet/wellenreiter have a lot of problems. Spend more money and get another one (for example a Dlink).
