Hello
As promised, here is a first attempt at a design of a MMC reader. It is a) untested and not even proofread. But at least the project lives on :-)
You can see it on
http://externe.net/zaurus/simpad-bluetooth the original bluetooth addon page since it's going to use spare GPIOs unused by the bluetooth mod.
This should make it quite easy to do : you just do your soldering and stuff outside the simpad, and once you are done, with a Torx 6 screwdriver simply open the simpad, connect your bluetooth + MMC module to the main board using the flat cable, and voila - you gain both bluetooth and storage space.
Ideally, someone could create several and sell them - the whole thing is GPL.
If it's working, I'll put a 1 Gb SD card in the simpad, which along with the bluetooth module shouldn't be too power hungry (better than a microdrive) while leaving the PCMCIA slot available for anything else (say Wifi...). If this works out, you can certainly expect a Guylhem distribution for the simpad soon :-)
Next is implementation then a GSM module.
