New 90nm Arm9 Chip

It doesn't look like it's targeted for PDA use. It's a bit depressing as Linux PDA news has is all but dead except for occasional N770 blurbs. Linux Dev sometimes features an exciting phone but it's usually exclusively for European or Asian markets (mostly Chinese). I hate our paranoid U.S. celluar carriers and the FCC. At least it looks like we are finally getting 3G phones after years of lagging behind the rest of the entire freaking planet. Except, of course, it's at oddball 1900 mhz so we still won't get the cool Linux phones that everyone else has. At least the Linux market has been very good for set top boxes.

ARM anounced the new ARM series, i cant remeber the number but even if i did mention it you would be confused (1 to 5 are familylies/archetectures while 7 onwards are implmentations that are complient with the faimalies/archetectures)

they say that on a 90nm process it can clock as fast as the fastest intel pxa270's (624mhz) and when more people are using/move to 45nm we should se another speed jump/power saving

that said intel looks to be one of the first out the door with 45nm and plans for pda chips that go up to and exceed 1ghz, however they will supposedly only be 25 percent more powerfull

could be intresting to see how it all goes, espessially considering the arm11 series supports multiple processors
