4gb Sd Card In C760
« on: January 04, 2007, 06:18:20 pm »
Hello All,

I have a Patriot 4GB SD card that I know works with my C760 (I had it working under OZ with 2.6 kernel). I have searched the forums and can't seem to find a definitive answer. My question is: how can I get this card, or any > 1GB card working with Cacko 1.23?

I think you need to install a new sd driver. Gimme a sec and I'll post the link.

EDIT:
Here's a link to my earlier query on Tyrannozaurus.com

Thanks to meanie ... here's the link for the driver  ... hxxp://zaurus.daemons.gr/menaie/mirror/stuff/sdmmc-module_2.4.20_arm.zip

Thanks, I was looking at that before, but from the filename I deduced that it was for a 2.4.20 version kernel. The kernel version on my c760 w/ cacko 1.23 is 2.4.18, can I still use this module/driver?

Or, how can I update the kernel version so I can use this driver?

Oh it will be just fine. I use Cacko 1.23 full on my c1000 with this driver. Everything works just right.

But as with any updates, always do a backup before you try anything.

That driver will not work with a 760.  It only works with the 1000 and 3000 series Zaurii.

I have heard that the C-Guys WiFi SD driver aka SDIO driver works with some high capacity SD cards on the 760 and 860.
I think I'm coming down with what kahm's got!  I now have 3 Zaurii in house!  ;)

I found some files from C-Guys page (drivers I hope). Look one thread down.

Hi Guys,

I used the C-guys drivers for the sd-link11b with my c760 running cacko 1.23, kernel 2.4.18, rebooted the Z, fdisked the sd card and layed down a vfat filesystem on it. Now I can happily access all 4GB of the SD card on both my Z and my Toshiba Laptop! Thanks guys for all your help. Now on to my wifi problems.
