No, no, no offense taken.

What I do mean is perhaps you are in a better position than I to make the guide more readable.

AFAIK there are a few basic things that shouldn't be left out:
1) Preparation of the target disk
-- internal disk or SD?
2) Method of installation of the kernel
-- via Flash Menu, Altboot, uboot <-- That is hard to simplify; I prefer to include the instructions there instead of having the reader jump to different website and then come back to the guide
3) Method of installation of the Debian rootfs
-- OABI vs. EABI; not just performance difference but also compatibility issues if things are not clear in the instructions)
4) Post-installation issues
-- this is yet another tricky area: different kernels and different rootfs and different combos involve different steps. A slight confusion or mistake can result in many  "OMG!"s.  Not long ago I was naively assuming that things work for both the yonggun kernel and the Angstrom kernel .... but I was wrong.

I also think that the current state of affairs is not very good. There are so many kernels and so many different setup methods. I would be rather confused too if I see this for the first time.

My ideal picture would be:
Kernel: Two stable and working kernels, one installed via the original Flash Menu, one via uboot;
rootfs: One single EABI tarball with all the fixes and test results intergrated, because EABI is presumably the future way of Debian on small devices.

It shouldn't be long before we can see this happen, as quite a few of the players here have got an EABI set up configured and finetuned.
Let's hope for a better future.
