I'm attempting to help with a work project using kismet. Instead of my laptop, I've decided to use my Zaurus (SL-5500).
I've followed the instructions that are located
here and seem to almost be there but I'm getting this error:
configdir '/root/.kismet/' does not exist, making it.FATAL: Could not make configdir: Read-only file system. The errors show when I attempt to start Kismet via the command line. When I use Kismet-QT, I get a pop-up window stating "Can't connect to the server". I'm assuming is the same issue....server won't start because of the Zaurus's config file perms so the GUI client can't connect.
http://www.kismetwireless.net/Forum/Genera...62028963.088968 states to cd to the user account (kismetuser in this case), change the PATH variable to ensure wlanctl-ng is in it, and then run kismet (still as root). I've no idea what this is talking about.
In the meantime, I'll keep searching the forums.
TIA,
