Security recommendations
« on: November 14, 2004, 12:10:00 pm »
As a project, I'm going to start my own custom rom for the SL-5500, (it'll take a while, new to *nix, but not to programming), and I was wondering what security recommendations you have, up to and including nitpicking. I'll be using The Kompany Rom as a base. I'd look for permission, but I doubt I'd ever get in contact with the developer. I'm big on security, and if someone were to use the Zaurus as a webserver, for example, then a tight, secure distribution would be preferable, and I hope to eventually have one available, but I'll be fiddling for a while. Enough of my rambling, any suggestions? Help would be appreciated, many thanks in advance. I'm already planning to include a console, firewall, virus scanner, and some security tools.
