How I Logout Of The Gpe Login Manager?
« on: March 25, 2006, 02:08:02 am »
Dear all,

I have GPE and 3.5.4/Opie installed on my Zaurus. When I logout of GPE, I am presented with the login manager (gpe-dm?), which is really comforting, coming from a Linux background.

But I cannot figure out how to quit the login manager, either to the shell (terminal 1), or to Opie (which I have set to terminal 3). Particularly if I am intending to use some Opie apps, I would like to shut down GPE completely. Just like I can shutdown Opie...

Cheerio, David.

You may kill X which is lying under gpe-dm, by using the special keys combination CTRL+ALT+Backspace ...

Depending on your model, these may be mapped or not, I'm not sure...

On my SL-C1000 (akita), CTRL and ALT are mapped to the two japanese characters between the "Ctrl" and "-" keys, on the bottom row, left side.

You need to kill X several times in a row for gpe-dm to stop starting-over.

Zaurus SL-C1000 - OpenZaurus 3.5.4.1-alpha1 w/ GPE image (some packages "custom made", compiled at home from bitbake+openembedded)
