Volume Adjustment On The C1000
« on: June 05, 2006, 02:10:55 pm »
Hello,

I'm new around here.  I recently got my Z and I am trying to use KO/PI on Cacko 1.23 to manage my calendar.

However, I keep missing alarms because I need to keep the regular volume of the Z on a low setting.  I work in a relatively quiet environment most of the time.

I tried turning off the screen tap and key press sounds but found it frustrating since the Z wasn't always recognizing my taps and presses when I didn't have the audible feedback.

My old Palm and the Psions (that the Palm replaced them) had the ability to set the alarm volumes to a louder volume then the rest of the sounds.  Since Linux is so much more flexible then either of those OSes I figured this should be a simple adjustment...  Well, being the Linux newbie that I am; I can't seem to find in KO/PI or the system sound settings or the system volume control.

So, can some kind soul please point out how to up my alarm volume without the rest of sound volumes following it?  Thanks.
I think I'm coming down with what kahm's got!  I now have 3 Zaurii in house!  ;)

you could always choose another alarm sound or replace the default one with a louder one.  Though the default kopi alarm is pretty loud for me.
I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

Thanks for tip, bluedevils.  I tried that and it still didn't help me.
