Upgrade Nand Flash
« on: March 20, 2005, 09:28:08 pm »
Hi all.
I'm looking for any success story about upgreade NAND flash. I'm was change NAND from TC58512 to K9F1G08U.

Now I hav't any idea about howto "tell" zaurus that NAND changed and need format NAND Flash.

If I try to make NAND Flash test, they tell

Code:

ERROR! Cannot initial
code=(-2)

If any have any idea please tell me at artem.bond ___DOG___ gmail.com

Sorry. I did't find forum about "problem with NAND flash at Cxx0".

By any way it's looks like problem with flash controller. Because old flash and new flash working by a same way. And i't happening when battery has been slowly discharged when system hand-up.

There was a japanese website about someone who upgraded the nand flash... i remember seeing the photos... they had to use some extra link wires... look around google and here.
Gorgeous C860, 256 Sandisk SD, 1Gig Pretec 40x CF, PDAIR leather case & the really cool retractable iPDA USB sync/charge cable. Powered by PDAXROM BETA 1.

My wish - to have a Command & Conquer style game on my Z! (FREECNC!!!) Simcity 2000 would also be great.

This particular russian thread is about upgrading RAM, not NAND flash.

Hello

I have a Zaurus with the same problem in the UK for surgery. At the moment, I am extremely busy, so I just can't promise anything, but I'll do my best to fix this issues.

To whoever has that problem, please contact me by email at guylhem at guylhem dot net

I now have two of the K9KG flash chips, one extracted from the Lexar sony- memory-stick compatible drive, another still in the memstick; I am happy to donate one to a zaurus user for repairing!

Hi

I revived my 7500C with a chip in a USB thumb drive. Please look at this post.

[a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21486&st=0]https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21486&st=0[/url]

Right now I would not risk trying any other chips. We must know the chip ids that Zaurus can accept. Wrong chip will definitely destroy your Zaurus.

wrc4, what was the exact ID of the chip you used to revive your Zaurus ?

Speculatrix, what is the ID of the chip you could donate?

If they match, it could help reviving the zaurus...
